Just wanting to know if there is any difference between the 2009 and the 2010,local dealer has offered me the 2009 shamrock 21ss(new) for $14500 plus tax,its only added options are tire cover, electric toungue, and outside grill. The 2010 Roo is $2500 more but is loaded with aluminum wheels, electric awning, awning over slide-out,tire cover,outside-grill,raised wood on fridge, among others,so basicly im looking at $15500 out the door for the Shamrock, and $18000 out the door for the Roo.The extra options are nice, but thats a big savings, thats why im wondering if there is something different between the 2009 and 2010,thanks

I'd go with the 2010 for a few reasons. One, the 2009 is a model year old. My 2009 was built in July last year, did you happen to read the VIN label to see when the Shamrock was built? When it comes time to sell you will always have a "one year newer" camper then the Shamrock if you pick the ROO. Additionally, there were changes made to the ROO's in late 2009/early 2010 models including relocating the fresh water tank to the outside, black window/door trim (no yellowing white or trying to remove mold stains on black trim!), new door seal system on later production models, updated Concertone system, etc.

You also get options on the ROO you may have wanted to addd to the Shamrock later, like the slide cover which are life saver's.

To me, I'd work a better deal on the 2010 ROO then the price you listed and go from there. My choice is the ROO.

I agree - the newer one is not THAT much more when you consider it's new and has the extras.

Before I bought either I'd check the price on the RVWholesalers website. Take a minute or so to check the options and another minute or two before they email the price back to you. You'll need to factor in freight to compare prices.

Slightly different slant on this question - have you actually seen the '09? Does it have all the options you want including the additional ones? Is the interior something you love? Are the cabinets sufficient and just what you want? Yes, the '10 model is an advantage being a year newer, but.....FR is famous for making changes with no advance notice. Upholstery may be totally different in '10 than the '09 and you may love it or hate it. A cabinet that is there in the '09 may be a shelf or totally gone in the '10. Just because you order a '10 model with certain features in mind does not necessarily mean that the delivered unit will be exactly what you thought. And because something is in the brochure does not mean that it'll be the same when you get it. IMHO, I wouldn't lose sleep over '09 vs '10 if the '09 is THE ONE you love.

I have seen both and the 2010 Roo is really nice, lots of extras and the 2009 is pretty basic, very few extras, just wondering if those extras are worth the money, and didnt they redesign the bunk seals in 2010?Here are links to both, but pay no attention to their listed prices, both I can get both cheaper than from rvwholesalers

ok, I'm sure you're just dying to know my opinion after looking at them - I vote for the '10. It does have several nice extras - love the upholstery and the slide cover is a necessity, as far as we're concerned. But also agree with Chuck_S on checking with RVW before you sign on the dotted like. The prices you've been given sound good - does that include the WDH or is that something you'll need to add? Also the Prodigy. Also suggest you go back and just have a good "test sit" in both - see what feels right and that's your answer.

no doubt the 2010 has the wow factor,i already have the Prodigy brake controller and the price includes the Reece Dual Cam WDH which I dont know much about,I hear that they are good.He did say if I insisted on using the Equal-i-zer he would put it on,but he recommended the Reece.

I was in your same position only it was an early 2010 shamrock 21ss vs a late build roo 21ss. I chose the late build for the following reasons:

I like the black trim (no yellowing).
Wanted the electric awning (works fantastic).
Shamrock bunk ends were a bit darker (more heat in the summer).
We didn't like the Shamrock interior as much as the Roo.

That said, the LCI (Lippert) electric tongue jack that rockwood is using is GARBAGE. Rated only at 2500# so it's not likely to last with the WD hitches, and hands down the loudest jack I've ever heard. It's actually louder than my 2000 Powerstroke. I've used it on two trips, and by the next trip a Barker will be sitting in it's place. Wish I would have saved the $80 and put it towards the Barker.

Check prices a little. We paid around $17k OTD for our 2010 loaded with every option (sans slide out topper).

Oh, also... The later 2010's right now have larger tanks per Rockwood's website (and verified by myself and members of this forum), although Rockwood denies that they've made any changes.
