Has anyone stayed at American Heritage Campground in Williamsburg VA?
If so, please let me know if you liked it or any other campground in the area.
Thank you

We drove through it once, thought it was really nice but a little to far out. We have stayed at Anvil a few times. Nice place, close to Williamsburg, even on the bus route but the campground is very tight and small. We usually stay at the Pottery campground. Very no frills, kind of run down but DW loves to run over to the Pottery every day all day. The Pottery campground is closed for the winter. I believe there are a few KOA's there also but I have never been to them.

We stayed there for a couple of weeks a couple of years ago.

The park is nice and most campsites are level and reasonably sized.

They are very close to I-64 which makes it easy to visit many areas nearby. There is a big Walmart a couple of miles away too which is handy.

We will stay there again the next time we visit Williamsburg.

PS. We lived in Williamsburg for seven years and never exhausted all there is to see and do in the area.

Stayed 4 days last spring and enjoyed it. the site was level but the approach wasn't and I needed to disconnect the toad before pulling in but that's not a big deal. Watch for the turn off the highway and then the turn into the campground. There is little notice you are approaching the campground.

We stayed 7 days there two years ago. Rig was same as sig. Site was level with concrete pad and wasn't extremely spacious but ok. Only negative was the gravel/dirt road access that speeders kept the first three sites on every row in a dust bowl. The staff was great and we felt AHC was close enough to Williamsburg, the plantations and I-64 for our needs. Campground was well maintained and clean. We plan to go back to the area and plan to stay in AHC, but further on down the row from the access road.

I have stayed there many times. It is a fine place to stay and the sites are mostly pulltrhu and are pretty level. Other than a pool and a basket ball court not much else to do but you do have a bunch of grass and a dog run. I would stay there again.

We have stayed there twice as a base camp to explore the area, and I would use it again. Nice people, well maintained, and they made noticeable improvements to the sites between our first and second visits, like adding concrete pads and more landscaping.

I have some pics of the campground in my Webshots per the link in my signature.

Nice enough campground, however, power dropped below 105v frequently when there were a lot of people using A/C.

A very nice campground. Free wi-fi and concrete pads. It is a large campground with trees. They gave us free fresh baked chocolate chip cookies when we arrived. There is a nice rec hall which our square dance club enjoyed. Very centrally located. BTW the Pottery Factory is now closed. After running down for decades only 1-2 shops were open last month. No doubt the land is now more valuable than the business.
