Hi,

Trying to drain the fresh water tank on a 2001 fleetwood jamboree 26F without any success.

How to do it?

There is a platic stopcock on the outside of the coach, in back on the driver side - but, turning the stopcock nothing comes out.

There is a plastic host and 90 degree valve in the utility compartment, and, it will drain water from the system when the water pump is turned on, but not off. Book says to leave the pump off when draining.

Any instruction very much appreciated.

Rick.

Open your compartments in front of or in back of the tank. Look deep inside and see if there isn't a valve in there. (mine is)

On our Tioga 26Q, there is an inspection panel outside the bathroom, yours may be similar. First open all faucets with pump off. Take off the panel and get down on the floor with flashlight, grope around in the dark hole to find two small shut off valves, these are the "low drain valves" open the valves and water will slowly drain out hoses in the bottom of the rig, you should see water dribbling out, when it stops the fresh water tank and lines are empty. Close the valves all the way, must be completely closed!!!!! Now you can refill tank. When you run the pump,it takes a while for water to start flowing from faucets. If when you shut off faucets, pump continues to run, one or both valves are not completely shut off.

Did you open the water faucets inside the coach? You need to allow air into the tank from someplace to get the water to drain out. I had an '89 Jamboree and never had to use the pink stuff because all the lines drained from gravity. I would blow out the pump and put windshield antifreeze in the p traps to keep them from freezing. In the 11 years I had it I never had a probnlem with freezing.

None of the faucets need to be open to allow the tank to vent. The tank should be vented near the fill. Take the stop cock off. Might be clogged up.

I've seen the stopcock get plugged with algae, take piece of insulated wire (like 12g. hook-up wire) and snake out the valve. Open the valve, stick the wire in 2-3 inches, water should start flowing.

I finally found my drain valve hidden behind the water filter casing (had to remove the water filter to reach it)in the sewer connection area, next to outside shower.
