This morning as I was putting away some "Northern Bathroom Tissue" I was rotating the stock and noticed the new rolls were about a 1/2 inch narrower than the old. I guess I had gotten used to the companies reducing the number of sheets per roll...but making the sheets narrower. Where will it stop????

Like everythings else the companies seem to shrink most of our products. Look at can foods, coffee etc. When a old recipe calls for a 16 oz can with all you find is now 14 to 15 oz. I have been be seeing paper towels getting smaller with less sheets. Sharon

The next step is the old size will appear on the shelves as "JUMBO SIZED", at a premium price.

That seems to happen a lot on many items we've purchased over time. One is paper towels. Seems the rolls are getting thinner. Of course, seems the price goes up accordingly
I think sometimes we forget that the freedoms we have are freedoms not because of celebrities. The freedoms are because of ordinary people who did extraordinary things, who loved this country more than life itself.

You just noticed?? Hate to tell you, but it's been that way for a while. Unless they just reduced the width again . How about the width of the bathroom tissue in store restrooms with those big, narrow rolls.

I just remember our towns newspaper has even gotten narrower. They went up on price of the paper and made in 2 inches smaller. Sharon

On the other hand, the bumper corn crop this year should create a surplus of cobs - for lighting campfires or something.

Sadly, the Sears and Wards catalogs are things of the past, and now Penney's is eliminating the big book as well.
Oh, well, with the newspapers getting smaller and using thinner paper, we can always go buy the roll ends, and cut them to convenient widths...
