Looked recently at a Jayco Class C. It had Capitol (or maybe Capital) tires on it. Never heard of them, which I guess is a bad sign. Anyway, need some info on this brand if anyone is familiar.

I have seen Capitol tires...the shuttle bus outfit I worked for used them on some vehicles. They didn't seem any better or worse than the other tires the company used.

Anybody else with experience with Capitol HT tires? These were just placed on my 2001 RT Versatile 200. On a 120 mile round trip last weekend, I felt like I was driving on Gummy Worms at times, but perhaps it was the wind or road.

I googled Chinese tires as I've learned from rv.net to not get those, but it seems many American companies have their tires manufactured in China anyway. One article said that may be, but you can trust the American standard, regardless of where it's made.

I am the original poster about these tires. Bought the Jayco Class C last August and have taken a few fairly short trips since then. Furthest trip about 175 miles one way. Anyhow, so far so good. I have kept a close watch on the tires and kept them inflated properly and do not overload the MH. I cannot compare the handling of these to other tires since I have not owned another Class C, but mine seem to be ok as far as I can tell. Wind will certainly affect the handling but I don't see how it would affect the ride quality. Good luck and hopefully someone else will comment soon.

Thanks dennislanier. My DH told our tire man we take short trips usually fall and spring and these were the recommended tires.

When I complained to DH about the handling issue, he told me the tire man said we could bring them back if necessary. That was a little disconcerting.

DH will test drive also and we'll change them out quickly if the drive is iffy. Will repost how it goes.

I hope to hear of more experiences. Thanks everybody.
