Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! My boyfriend and I are full-timing this winter in ND. So far we have had no major issues (except one water issue which we efficiantly solved). We now have a backed-up toilet. This is a first, we've never had an issue with the toilet before. When my boyfriend noticed it was backed up he went outside to empty the waste tank but nothing came out. So, we now have a toilet that's full of water ( pretty nasty) and it won't empty. Holding the pedal down does nothing but cause a gurgling noise. What can we do??

It's possible that the rod you pull to open the valve has pulled out of the gate valve. If you can access the valve to see, it's easier. When it happened to me, the actual valve was covered by the underbelly panels so it was a job just to get to the valve. Once there, I could guide the rod back in, and reseat it.

Of course, it it happened once it can happen again. I installed a tiny hose clamp on the rod that prevents it from being pulled out too far again.

Get a blackwater drain "T" with the flush waterhose connection and see it you can breakup the clog that way, just dont use your drinking water hose to flush it!

What are you in?
Could it be frozen? Try hair dryer
happened yesterday to neighbors - their toilet froze and overran when flushing

What is the temp. up there. It could be as simple as a froxen plug ahead of the drain valve. If it's a poop pyrmid it gets more difficult and messy. You may have to use a tank cleaning wand inserted through the toilet or a plumbers snake or both. Be careful when using a tank cleaning wand too much pressure and you will have poop water spray back on you and all over the bathroom.Don't ask me how I know. The built in tank sprayers are not very effective on the pyrimid.

As I have replied to this subject several times. #1- Reach your arm down the hole as far as you can.#2 Squeeze all the hard chunks up between your fingers and then flush . #3 Wash hands before cooking. #4 Do this as a regular maintenance once a month. It has always worked for my wife. Hope this helps

Hmm... well, frozen? It hasn't been that cold the past couple of day - it's actually been much, much colder a bit ago and it didn't freeze. Also, we have heat tape running down the length of it. Plus, skirting all around the trailer w/ two heaters under our 5th wheel. I stepped on the pedal and it seems as though water is all backed up til the toilet.

Is this a serious post, lol? Because I am willing to try anything. I would love for our toilet to be fixed tonight. I feel like I can't drink anything tonight as I don't feel like walking back and forth to the public bathrooms in this blowing snow.

If you can run a garden hose into the toilet. Kink it off and stick it down the hole. When it hits something let the kink out and see if the water presure from the hose will clear the jam. But since you said your boyfriend tried to dump the black tank and nothing came out it sure sounds like it is frozen solid.
You said holding the flush valve down produces nothing but a gurgle leads me to believe it is frozen.
Luck to ya
