I think the time has come for me to make the difficult choice to trade the beautiful '07 Newmar Ventanna 3933 i have for the newer model. Problem is the dealer i do business with isn't a Newmar dealer anymore, and I love my Newmar. The other issue is that the new Newmar Dutch Star I'm thinking about is on a Freightliner chassis. I absolutely love my Spartan chassis and have driven a friend's Damon on a Freightliner chassis and was less than impressed. The other problem is I have always been less than impressed with the quality of the fit & finish of Fleetwood products. I had a Fleetwood some years ago that I found to be quite shoddy. The decision I'm faced with is stay with Newmar, go to a different dealer, and settle for a fough riding Freightliner chassis or stay with my dealer, buy a Fleetwood Providence, and stay with the Spartan chassis. Has Fleetwood stepped up their game? Any insight would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have already decided.

I went to the 2011 Hershey RV show. The quality of Fleetwood did not get any better.

After having a couple of fleetwoods that were OK and now a Newmar I don't think I could go back to a Fleetwood. Have you tried a Newmar on them Freightliner? There is a big difference from a Newmar to a Damon and that could also make a difference in the ride.

How do you know your friends FL did not have some kind of front end problem?

Go drive the newmar you want and see how it rides. My FL chassis is not a problem since the front end alignment after purchase that FL did for free. I would buy another FL although I would not be opposed to a spartan in the future.

When they increased the size of the radiator and got rid of the slobber tube to meet EPA requirements I think the current FL chassis got rid of a lot of their past problems.

I have used the Newmar dealer in Winter Garden for service the past few years. Excellent work. They have a good selection of Newmar's on their lot, it might be a bit of a drive from Clearwater, but check them out. I did not buy from them (bought used - private sale), have no direct interest - just positive service experience

I would ask why your dealer is no longer an Newmar dealer.
May be good reason to look elswhere.
Newmar tends to part ways with sub par dealers.

Keep what you have! Problems solved! Then you can continue to be happy with your dealer, chassis and MH brand.
