Phew! I never knew we had that much stuff in our motorhome. We're preparing to give up RVing, and in preparing to sell we've moved everything out. Things we'd forgotten we had. Stuff we always thought we'd need, and never did.

Had same issue when swapping mh's. Good time to rethink the value of having all that stuff.

Stuff expands to fill the space available, or words to that effect.

We gave up full timing do the health reasons and will start part timing again. Purchased a home and unloaded, unloaded, unloaded and unloaded. We had way to much stuff we forgot about. Had a list with what was in each bay. Did not keep up with it. Hope we do better this time part time. We didn't lat time. Just something we have to live with.

That's why we have three rules for FT'ng
1) CAT Scale each year
2) Haven't used it in 6 months.....it goes
3) One bag in.....two bags out

When we first hit the road basement compartments were full, closet was full, dresser drawers were full, cabinets were full.
Just like the Conestoga Wagons 6 months later we were dropping items off at charities/churches.
Now no matter what we open up I can see everything that is there....no stacking.
Life is so much simpler.....ahhhhhh!

Like the posters before me, we had too much 'stuff'. We'd bought a new fiver, and transferred all the things from our old one to our new one, without regard.

After realizing we were now "heavy", I took the rig to a scale.

Next step was to reduce weight. Started pulling stuff out of the RV that we had not used in years, if ever. Only put back the things we would use at least once per season.

So I fully understand your 'revelation' but only wonder what you'll do without another RV to put the stuff in?

Once a year, I empty the whole thing out and toss a bunch of stuff. I also keep a list of what is in each basement compartment.
