After doing some research and I-shopping I think I'm on the fence between Newmar Mountain Aire and Tiffin Allegro Bus. I have no solid feedback from Tiffin owners and although I'm partial to Newmar due to my current coach, I'd like to hear opinions of the fit and finish and overall quality of Tiffin Coaches

Newmar. No contest as far as I am concerned.

As you can see below I have a Newmar. First, both make good motorhomes. IMHO, Newmar would go years without addressing known problems; IE Evans valve. Also management in the past thought they knew more than the customer and wouldn't make changes based on customer suggestions. I do not know if they have changed their philosophy as of late. Lately, I have heard of more inoperable electric awning type issues with Tiffins then Newmar's. If you can't resolve a Tiffin issue with a dealer, you can always call Bob Tiffin direct.

With that said, now that you have it down to 2 good manufacturer, I would take a look at each manufactures floor plans. Even if you decide that one manufacture makes a little better RV, it wouldn't make any difference if you didn't like any of their floor plans.

Good luck with the new coach.

I believe that one good source is TiffinRVNetwork.com which if you look at will show that Tiffin's quality control is more and more questionable.

Either will have a few problems, but tiffins fiberglass roof radius in the current design is cracking. Once cracked Tiffin will put aluminum rails on the radius as in the old design. They did mine and are repairing 2 roofs a day right now.

But I would never order a MH with a known significant issue. I view the roof as significant.

If you delay your purchase until tiffin changes roof designs I would say it is a toss up. But that might be several years. They have increased the thickness of the radius and it still cracks. It makes no sense to me they do not go back to the old design, but they have not yet done that.

Im my opinion, there is no comparison between a Newmar at the Mountain Aire level and anything Tiffin makes. I have personally seen quality control issues even at the Bus level that would never have gotten out the factory door at Newmar.

If you're in Clearwater, head to the RV show in Tampa and look at the fit and finish of both. We fulltime in a Newmar, so I'm prejudiced, perhaps, but the interiors of the Tiffins we saw last year at the Tampa show left me shaking my head...

I'm no expert and don't even own a DP yet (just waiting for some property to sell), a year ago we had narrowed down our choice to the Allegro Bus, Winnebago Tour, and a NewMar Dutch Star. After following the forums of all 3 for a year we have narrowed down our choice to the Newmar. One is they have the best floorplan for our needs and the other is they seem to have the fewest complaints and reoccuring problems of the 3.

Just my opinion of my research.

As you can see we do not have a DP but can say that Tiffin stands behind their products. They have their problems as does any manufacturer. The difference is that Tiffin is genuinely concerned and will take care of any problems that you have. They work had and are succesful is making sure that every customer is satisfied with their products.
