I have 2 questions regarding the cooltech setup,
1. How do you get the wire from the tail housing into the left frame rail?
2. My rv has a 7 way blade hitch plug and my umbilical is a 6 way female blade receptical on both ends and it needs to plug into the cooltech 4 pin hookup on bumper. What adapters do i need to make this work?
Thanks

Back when I did it there was a hole in the frame near the rear brought it out the frame hole near the front tire
did not use any connectors I just cut off the cooltech plug and wired into the plug receptacle on the front of the jeep

1. I removed the taillight assembly and ran the cord along the frame and secured the cord with zip ties along the length of the frame.
2. My cooltech came with a 7-way circle, my MH is also 7-way circle... They sell adapters at various RV\auto supply places

im in the process of the installation right now and something that isn't clear to me is with the tap in connector. Am i supposed to cut the yellow white wire from the jeep? I understand that the yellow cooltech wire goues in the connector just wasnt sure what to do with the yellow white wire??? Sorry if this basic, just not sure.
Also, I am installing a 6 pin connector in the front rather than the 4 that is supplied. I'm using the blue ox 7-6 umbilical off the rv, does anyone have any idea if this changes the mapping for the cooltech wiring or is it still by the color coding?? Thanks!

Also, you might want to note that although there is no standard pin assignment for the 4 pin round connector, there is a "most common" assignment. The Cooltec instructions do NOT follow the "most common" way.

I have heard this and is one of the reasons I ask. I am using a 6 pin round connector instead of the 4 pin. My blue ox umbilical is a 6 pin female end. Just trying to figure out if I should follow the mapping instructions tha t came with the 6 pin as they are a little different from the cool tech?

psw757,
My suggestion would be that if a standard exists for your connector, it should be followed. The front end of the Cooltec harness is just bare wire ends and can be connected any way that you want.

My '08 Wrangler had a hole in the left frame rail in the driver's side rear wheel well. The cable was run into the rail and fished out a similar hole in the front. I have the 7 blade plug into the motorhome and a 4 pin plug into my Wrangler. 12,000+ miles of trouble free towing so far.

Well, I got the cooltech harness installed. The install was the easy part, have some sort of issue with the lights. For some reason when it is all hooked up everything works, brake lights, turn signals side markers. However, after I unhook the drivers side side marker and tail lights aren't working. But the odd thing is that when I turn the turn signal or brakes on they work...... Any ideas?
