Tile, laminate or wood EVERYWHERE, with throw rugs that you can dump when beyond the point of cleaning up nicely. That's my perfect setup........

I've been wanting to put carpeting in our TT, but my wife doesn't want me to. I would install it in 4 sections, like large custom fitted throw rugs, so they would fit perfectly yet be easy to remove for thorough cleaning. I would have the edges bound for a clean cut look.
But my wife is the boss, so........

Love carpet...expcially now since we don't have kids. As was said get a couple of accent runners and no problem. You can change the look of your RV by just changing the runners. We treat the RV just like our house shoes off at the door.

We installed commercial grade sheet flooring then over top of that carpeting but just in the living area. It's cut to size and bound on the edges. The carpeting can be removed for cleaning or replacing and it stays in places better than throw rugs.

I like carpet too...in the same areas as a home. We have it in the sitting area and bedroom...not it the bath or kitchen. We have four kids and they often play on the floor. I can't imagine they would be very comfortable on a lino/laminate floor. I also find it insulates the MH a little. Our original carpet in the sitting area was very worn when we bought it. We were given enough carpet to replace it all but I chose not to pull out the old carpet. We were going to be heading out on a two month trip and I did not have time to pull out all the furnature to properly replace it. I cut the new carpet to fit perfectly over the old. It has now been in our MH for three years. I actually like install this better. When this carpet gets looking a little too old/disgusting I will just get a new piece and use it for a template. Very easy!

DW wanted hard flooring for ease of cleanup (travel with dogs) I like carpet. The coach we found has all of the old carpet replaced with high end Berber in the bath/bed and driver's areas and we love it.
I even used scraps from replacing the home carpet to make a removable carpet/pad insert for my truck camper, keeps it warmer when cold out and is very nice on the feet for those trips to the head in the middle of the night.
As with most things it's personal choice, everyone has different tastes and needs.

Love our carpet. Most of our trips are a month or longer, and I give the carpet a good cleaning the first day out on a new trip. Once a year I rent a steam carpet cleaner at the super market and give it a deep clean. The carpet looks great and feels good on bare feet. Like everything else on the rv, if you take care of it, it will last a long time and look good.

I like carpeting and I agree that cheap carpeting is usually used in all but upscale MHs which leaves mine out. After ten years my carpet was looking pretty bad and I considered expensive carpet replacement with the vast majority of the cost being in labor. I steam cleaned my carpet and was so pleased that I put off carpet replacement for now.
