The pass through single pane window right where you step up into the cabover is crap. Whatever the temp is outside...the window glass is the same temp. In winter it is like a freezer right there at your bed.

Was going to put up some self adhesive foam insulation sheeting on the glass. Then tape up reflectex over that right out to the molding. Is this a good way to close off the window?

I have no use for it. I guess it helps with backing up if you got a window in the door. (I don't)

Thanks

We use it for a slight draft during the day while away from the the camper. If it rains during the day no water can enter. I have form fitting reflective insulation for night time use.

I've never used ours either. The drapes are always drawn closed. The best insulation is air, so don't cram too much up against the glass. I'm thinking maybe some self adhesive velcro on the window frame and some on the reflective material like you see in car windshields might seal it off. For extra maybe a little bubble wrap in between?

This is exactly what I did... I need all the insulation I can add.

I also removed the frame/ molding around the door glazing to do the same thing with reflectex. I placed reflectex in all the cabinet interiors and in the space under the shower. I also insulated on the inside around the metal LP box and battery enclosure. I also added 4" rigid in the framing h space under the floor.

When I was driving thru a rain storm the pass thru window leaked... I think nit got blown in between the sliding panes and then filled up the tracks and poured into the step.

Thinking of either closing it off from the outside with a panel over the whole window...and insulating it at the same time or caulking the slide and the tracks.

I replaced the sliding pass through window on the Lance.
The metal framing the window sections blocked my view though the door in the rear.
I ordered it direct from Lance and it was shipped to the dealer in the next load of campers.

I use a 1" thick piece of the "bead" foam from Home Depot cut to fit and held in by the curtain. Really helps keep the warm in and the cold out.

Yes, the shower dome skylight gets a layer of ice in it sometimes.

My dogs use our window when it is warm enough outside to leave it open. They sleep up there and guard the truck. When it is cold I just put a piece of foam up against the window and hang a heavy blanket over it.

We purchased our camper new last year and it came with the pass thru slider.

We replaced it with a Thermal pane from the factory It works great. I would not be without the clear window when driving, the rear view thru the center ( with the lower fish eye ) is great and natural to all drivers.
