We purchased a Redwood 36 RL in Kalispell, MT in October and pulled it back to central California. We left it at our little ranch plugged in to power but otherwise shut down. We don't freeze much there and the winters are mild. So we stayed in the rig all of 10 days and it has been stored in CA since. We just got back to California about 2 weeks ago and we have several leaking levelers, leaks under both sinks, and a roof leak in the front from the seam over the back edge of the master bed, and one of the gray water valves won't shut. There was some damaged trim on the LR slide and the "authorized dealer" was supposed to call us when the part came in. He hasn't. The same dealer was supposed to ship us the air mattres to make a bed of the living room couch and he didn't. Admittedly problems come up, but for a 2012 model that has been barely used (we lived in our ranchhouse in Montana all winter) and stored in a mild climate, this seems like an excessive number of problems for a particular model/line. We want to start traveling again this summer, if everything works out, but we don't want to spend the entire summer traveling from one authorized dealer to another. I realize most new RVs have minor problems, but has anyone else had so many problems with their Redwood fifth wheel? If so, how did you resolve them? Down here, the nearest "authorized dealer" is over an hour away (about the same as in Montana for us) but doesn't even advertise Redwoods on their web page. Any suggestions or shared experiences would be appreciated.

I'm not sure things smell right here. With only 5 posts and 4 of those questioning the quality of the Redwood and then the 5th saying you indeed bought one and it's falling apart. Why would someone buy something that they had questioned so much? mmmmmmmm don't think so

Sorry to sound so cranky, but the leak just started today. With all the other odd problems, this is indeed annoying. I can't speak to the opinions of others, I just asked if other people were having the same problems.
I first posted on this site last fall when we were considering this rig. We bought a little ranch in Montana and have been tied up up there until we hauled the rig to California in October and stored it so basically until 3 weeks ago, we had spent less than 2 weeks in the rig. We have been back in California for 3 weeks working on our place there and need this place to stay in, and I start to discover problems.
I realize many new rigs have minor problems, and my problems with the dealer are not the fault of the manufacturer. In fact the only problems I had with the rig when we bought it were a damaged piece of trim on the living room slideout and the E tires on such a large rig. Indeed I am definitely going to upgrade the tires when I finish up in CA. I see some people have the same problem with the tires AND the Lippert undercarriage, but I can't speak to that. I also realize that the Redwood is pretty comfortable, and some people just have problems with Thor products. Still, we have only lived in this "Residential trailer" a total of 5 weeks in the last 6 months, and this seems an excess of problems. The rig pulled nicely back from Montana and has been comfortable the little we have used it, but the quality control could use some work.
In Redwood's defense, I fired off a cranky note to Redwood, too, and received an almost immediate reply from their rep. who promised to get me scheduled in for service Monday.

I am curious did you winterise your redwood, you said it rarely freezes but that meens it can and does freeze that could very well be part of your lakes under the sinks, have you checked to see if the waterlines are tight at the faucets, it is not uncommon for them to become lose and need to be tightened after the first few uses? As to the roof leak you did not give much info on this is it leaking only when the slide is out or is it in the main room of the bed room? The damaged trim is an issue for your dealer as you have said. Other than this forum you you must have had other sources of information to help you decide on the redwood and it must have been good info , no one purchases a 80000.00 plus RV on bad reviews.
On another note not related to the quote above I my self have a redwood on order and do not appreciate all the negitive responses from people who have a beef with a company they no nothing about.
