This posting does nothing but prove to me there are a whole lot of nuts on the road. What the heck is the rush. Going to your funerals? 60 MPH is a safr speed towing a monsterous 5th wheel.
My car has 180 mph rated tires. Does one travel at that speed? Not.
perhaps these cowboys should install V speed rated tires and take their rigs to racetracks.

I don't like being a road block on the highway. I won't travel slower than the trucks in the slow lane.

My old car had tires rated for 180 as well, but, I only went 140 in it The motorcycles only up to 120

I try to stay around 65 mph. Less stress and better gas mileage.

Anywhere from 1mph to 75mph, depending on where I'm towing at the time.

Usually 55-60mph but that's if I'm not slowing down traffic. If cars start backup up behind us, we pick up the pace or get off the road.

That gets us just shy of 13mpg long term average. Also we rarely travel more than 150 miles in a day so an extra 5mph isn't going to have much impact on when we arrive.

Interesting that a graph at Hypertech shows that the stock LB7 in my '02 Dmax makes it's highest h.p. and torque at 3000 rpm. I guess that must be for the steep grades. :-) 65 mph is just a hair over 2000.

I guess we go purdy fast. We actually DO live in Bermuda & you would not believe the number of people who ask, after learning where we live, "So...how do you get your 5er from Bermuda to here?" The answwer invariably goes like this..."Well you see, there is a beach in Bermuda & we pick a nice calm day, get up to a terrific speed......& hydroplane all 600 miles the Cape Hattarass which is the closest point of land for us. Here's you sign." It is amazing how many will stand there very close to believing that it can be done.

And no, we don't keep it in Bermuda. An island of 20sq miles is no place for a RV. It is stored in the US.

An even better story, that's half-way believable, would be that there's 6 of you on-island that have RVs and you contract with the Russians to fly in the An-225, load all the RVs up and fly to a major airport near where you want to camp. :-)
