I'm planning on visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon parks on May 4. I'm hoping some of you will be kind enough to give me an idea which campground will be best to suit my needs.

Based on current info posted in the park's website, Hwy. 198 is closed to vehicles longer than 22 feet in length, thus I will be entering the parks using Hwy. 180.

My only choices, based on my arrival date, are the following:

Potwisha

Lodgepole

Azalea

Sentinel

My preferences:

Broadband or wifi access from the campground site or nearby is top priority.

Campground close to Hwy. 180 entrance.

Sunny sites for solar panels and satellite dish.

Generators allowed.

I will be traveling in a 30' moho with toad and I will NOT have reservations.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations and suggestions. BTW, I'm also open to suggestions for private RV parks close to the park entrance.

P.S. I tried to find a map showing all the campgrounds within the parks to give me an idea of their locations and came up empty handed. If you know of such a map, please post a link to it. Thanks again!

You're going to have lots of trees in both parks. Both are remote so wi-fi will probably be iffy at best and all national parks have very limited hours for generator usage.

Go to google maps, locate the parks and zoom in to find the campgrounds.

We used Sequoia Ranch RV - in Three Rivers, about 3 miles from np entrance. There was no verizon signal in the park, but they do have wifi.

Thanks for all of the information.

Does anyone know if Verizon broadband comes in at the Azalea campground or somewhere nearby?

You might look into staying at Kaweah RV Park in Three Rivers, California, and using your dingy for day trips into the park. It is a nice little rv campground just a few miles outside the south entrance to Sequoia.

Come up Hwy 198 and stay in Three Rivers and use your toad to visit the parks. There will be no signals in Sequoia or Kings Canyon for anything. My RV park of choice is Kaweah RV Park...
