What a treat to find your Trip Report, this morning. The photography is wonderful and I enjoyed seeing the towns and the people that you included, in your photos. Thank you for bringing us along on your journey, as you are getting your new Outfitter broke in.
joerg , thanks for the memories . I got to visit many of those towns in the 60's . I found some distant relatives in Wurzburg . They owned a small deli , I will never forget the lunch they provided that day . Beautiful region .
To all who took the time to look at the pictures and respond: Thanks a lot! It made my day :-)
@Mello Mike: Garmisch Partenkirchen is one place I have yet to see myself. I hear it is beautiful.
@vik1: Salut! I wish my french was as good as your english. It is a shame as I live right on the french border.
@sabconsulting, weymard: Hope to see you all in Bad Kissingen in June!
@Camper_Jeff_&_Kelli: Glad you liked it here. Come back and compare with your memories, I am sure a lot has changed...
@Lots of Stuff: The truck and camper are just great - and not even oversized for european roads. We wouldn't want to trade for a euro RV either.
@valhalla360: let me know if you need assistance. If you happen to come through south-west germany, stop by for coffee or beer!
@RobertRyan: wow ... even from Australia ;-) Glad you like it. But it is too cold up here.
@Oldtymeflyr: That red can is a spare LPG bottle. We werent't sure if the one inside the camper would last throughout the trip, and LPG is hard to come by on a sunday morning at 3 AM. The truck is a standard 2008 Silverado 2500HD 4x2 Work Truck; the camper is an Outfitter Apex 8. We had both shipped here from the US.
@big whitey: Yes the TC is great, it handles almost like a passenger car.
@Nemo667: Come and visit! And I still need to see Louisiana, too!
@hedgehopper: I realize many of you all were here on an extended "business trip" (sort of). We are glad you all were here!
@whazoo: Just wait till we come to the desert. Then we will have a photography contest ;-)
@Catrider1: Kitzingen is now a general aviation airport. Hope you had a good time here, even if your stay was for serious reasons.
@silversand: Did I tell you I was in Montreal once? Probably the single most european city I have seen in all of america!
@Roadlover: Thanks for responding! And for the compliments, too!
@Clarryhill: I had a very good friend who was here with the US Forces. It was him who taught me much of my english. We still visit every couple of years. He now lives in central OH.
@flaxi: wir sehen uns in Bad Kissingen!
@bka0721: Greetings back to the Republic of Colorado where our camper comes from! She likes it here a lot, but complains about the cold weather and the rain.
@ticki2: I, too, have relatives near Wuerzburg, but to the west. Good food is to be had in many places over here :-)
Thanks again, everyone!
Joerg

A fairytale land indeed! Looks like one could eat off the streets they're so clean. Love the architectural details and landscapes. Thanks for the photos of your trip!
This is good stuff. Love the quaint villages. Around here a 150 year old building is REALLY OLD and you guys have a pharmacy that is nearly 400 years old, haha.
