The micro wave in the RV has stoped working, so a new one is in order. Can I purchase any microwave that will fit into the space of the old one or do I need to purchas one made for RV use?
Thanks

Just go to Walmart and pick up a MW that will fit in the existing space. I did that last year. You may have to be creative and make some retaining brackets or re-use some of the hardware to hold the mw in place.

My microwave also quit working last week. Mine is:

Sharp Model R-1880LST over the range convection microwave with integral exhaust fan Serial No. 112961 manufactured in 2007.

It seems that there is a fuse that can be replaced (with some caution). I have a local appliance store investigating the issue.

We were using it (interior MH temperature was ~95F) for about 20 minutes, with a 5 minute rest, then another 8 minutes, and "bzzt". The circuit to the MW is fine?

New micro will not only have to fit dimensionally, but also be properly sized electrically. For example, older RVs may use a 15A circuit for a microwave. If you attach a 20A micro to a 15A circuit, be prepared to reset the circuit breaker.

Look at micro models online. On many appliance sites, you'll be able to check the dimensions & power requirements.

Our sharp convection/micro quit a couple years ago.

Do a search using the brand, model#, you may find an exact match.

We found our exact match online at Walmart.com....Still working today.

There's not much to a microwave and it's almost always the slow-blow fuse when it stops working. I would try that first.

My local appliance store/repairman said that it is a good thing that the MW quit working entirely, because it is probably just a fuse. One is for temperature, and the other for power.

I'll remove it tonight and take it to the shop tomorrow to hopefully have the fuses checked/replaced.

There's probably an access panel on the inside so you don't need to take it out of the hole to get to the fuse.

I'll look for an access panel which is probably on the top rather than inside (I'll look closer for that), but since it's built in with a wood cabinet top, I'll probably need to remove the front face trim (at least at the top edge), remove a couple of screws, and lift it off the wall hook? Some apparently tilt forward for access, and some need to be completely removed??

I think that I'm looking for a few pinched fingers in the process?

Thanks for the hints.
