We will be in Whidbey Island in Mid June. Any recommendations on;
Where to stay? We have a 33' trailer and only over a weekend - hookup is not needed. We need to visit someone on the South end of island, so I'm thinking Deception Pass may be too far north.
Where is a good clam beach? Mainly looking for Manila clam or like
Check out Fort Casey. Outside of Coupeville. Not too far from Oak Harbor (also has a nice city park downtown) and Langley. The ferries dock right across from the park. Nice beach and you can watch the ships come and go through the straits.

Park overview:
South Whidbey Island State Park is a 347-acre camping park with 4,500 feet of saltwater shoreline on Admiralty Inlet. Park features include old-growth forest, tidelands for crabbing and clamming, campsites secluded by lush, forest undergrowth and breathtaking views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. The park offers a unique outdoor experience.

Is Deception Pass the driveable entrance to Whidbey? I've been to Whidbey several times do not recall if I drove once? I do recall the pass, it is beautiful. Saw my first Bald Eagle there.
Ferry costs would be unbearable for a 35; with a toad.
