The 3000w Honda Handi generator is closer in sound level to a open frame construction generator than a EU series. That is one reason why it is cheaper than a EU3000i.

Jim
To clarify, the EU3000is (electric start, larger fuel tank, quietest Honda generator sold today, 200cc engine, mostly steel) is $2329.95 MSRP, and the EU3000i Handi (pull start, smaller tank, louder, 160cc engine, magnesium(!) and plastic materials) is $2599.95 MSRP.
Like a lot of things, it's what pros and cons matter most to your situation. EU3000is customers appreciate the electric start, large fuel tank, quiet operation. They dislike the weight (134 lbs) and the battery is a maintenance item when the unit is not used regularly. Wheel kits are a cost-up accessory.
The Handi customer likes the light weight (76 lbs), built in wheels and carry handle, offset lifting handles, convenience light on control panel. They dislike the higher price, louder noise level, and shorter run time (smaller fuel tank).
I guess that's why the pair of EU2000i generators in parallel is preferred choice of many. Not only do you get the extra 1,000 watts, they are lighter, quieter, and priced about the same as a standard EU3000is.

Yes I know the difference is hot and humid We camp in the south Mississippi or south west Yuma area BLM from early Dec. till April so now think it may be the oil or some other reason My old big red runs longer maby I have a different jet set up in the carb.......all I know it is real easy on gas and starts easy and I need no exrta fuel tank to run the air all night or all day....this unit was a bought in Canada one the specks are different I was told....but thats what the Honda shop said when I bought it. CSA for importing to Canada is a little more stringent than the USA for many things as Electric codes, gas emishions etc.some what like California...CSA and UWL are not the same standards at all ...

Canadian-spec Honda EU2000i generators do not have the parallel outlets due to CSA rules. USA-spec Honda EU2000i units do have parallel outlets. Labels on Canadian-spec models are in English and French (or use icons/drawings) while USA-spec models are in full USA-legalese :-) Otherwise, I do think the units are the same, including emissions (both exhaust and evaporative) certification levels.
WOW as We tell some thing about a 3000 some one tells about a 2000 what is the matter with sticking to the size again do not tell Me what I have is not different than a 2000 because I know what I have is..... Big,red, heavy, elect.start, and runs all night and thats all I know also they are not the same as USA 3000
I had the same issue. I finally purchased the eu3000 as it was easier for my wife to just turn the key. I am glad I did as when we dry camp with the 3 gallong gas tank, we can go 3-4 days of dry camping before I need to refuel. The 2000's do not have the fuel range and you would need to by extra tanks to run them longer. If its a hot night it will run all night on one tank for the a/c with reserves. To make it easier on the genny I installed a "hard start kit" for the a/c This is nothing ore than a larger capacitor that when its charged kicks the a/c on instantly. I have now had the eu3000 for 7 years along with two trojan t-125 6volt industrial batteries and its a good dry camp package. Happy trails!
