I see this every day. The morons scream down the through lane then jam their way without signalling into the lane leading to the bridge. They then dive into a space half a car length long in the curb lane so they don't have to merge left with the traffic coming off the overpass.
Put yourself in the place of the driver trying to merge. If everyone played nice they would alternate, each car on the off ramp pulling in behind every second vehicle and everybody gets where they are going without a bent fender.
I guess one of the reasons that I'm as defensive at driving is because I have mostly had 4-cyl cars, so I really had to work to get on at the ramp, so I'm aware when others are trying to get on too.
Now, with the V-10 in the MH, I've got more power, but also a heck of a lot more weight and size, so I still give my best shot at getting up to speed to enter, or adjust my speed for others to enter......after all, I'm really not in a rush
And, as someone mentioned, it's not a competition!

When driving my car, I will pull to the left to make room and avoid merging traffic. Also: I can speed up, slow down and change lanes much better than a slower vehicle entering traffic. It is just not a problem.
When driving my MH, the situation is much different. I am generally less agile and maneuverable compared to merging traffic. Changing lanes takes more time. Acceleration is more of a dream than reality. So I just let the merging driver in by slowing down way before the end of ramp.
As big as MH's are, they do not do well in crashes. I will not risk my life or my family's, proving I have the right of way.

After years of driving large trucks hauling anything from logs, heavy equipment and general freight, never once did I ever think I am bigger so I have the right of way. There are alot of idiot drivers out there and you just have to learn how to avoid them. The key is to be watching as you are coming up to an on ramp and slack off if you have to, to let someone in. There will always be idiots on the road, so that does not mean you have to be one too. Any one thinking there motorhome is a brute with an air horn better grow up. You will have more damage in a crash the they will.

I drive defensive/aggressive. I watch those coming onto the Hwy. Just because some one thinks they have the right to my space does not mean they do. It is their responsibility to merge/match speed and blend into the traffic the are merging into. I have been in situations where 3 cars want to bee where I am. It is not my responsibility to slow down for anyone, let alone let 3-5 cars that do not want to be behind a MH in.
I do not usually speed up or slow down. Merging traffic can do that. Period. There are exceptions but few.

X2, with slickest1 on this!
Expecially having hauled 300+ degree hot liquid asphalt, gasoline, Jet-A, and JP-8 for the last 20 years of my driving time. One would have thought they would have wanted to stay far away from me!!!
When I first got my license in California I was required to take a 'Driver'sTraining Course'. I was taught that freeway on ramps were also called 'acceleration ramps' and that it was my responsibility to reach traffic speed before merging into traffic.
But we all know that no one is responsible for their actions any more and expect the traffic flow to adjust to THEIR speed.
I don't adjust my speed or move to another lane, they either get in front of me or fall in behind me. I also make my presence known with liberal use of my air horns.
