wondering what might be needed for towing long distances, to make the ride smoother.
Set-up is 6.0 05 excursion 6in lift 37in tires. 18in rims sadly. rear air bags. i have all the stuff done on the tv so not worried about the 6.0. TT is a raptor 30fs toy hauler.
What im wondering is there any thing or things i might want to add to make the ride more stable, Ive only driven it home (350 miles) so far, pulled nice for the most part but the wind seemed to kick me around on the road alot more then when i had my fifth wheel. Next trip will be around 6000 miles so id like to get it as good as it can be before i go.
When i had it hooked up it sagged the back about 3 inches and i aired the bags up so TV was level and nose of TT was mybe 2 inches lower in its front.

6 inch lift will create an unstable towing platform in my opinion, particulary with a loaded toy hauler depending on the weight your hauling back there.

Updated my sig, will be hauling a couple of bikes in it. I know its not the ideal tow rig for long runs but im unwilling to part with it for now. so just looking to maximize what i have. only other truck id care to drive right now would be a lifted dually ford crew cab lol.

I think in your case it will be a compromise between losing the ideal towing set-up to gain eye appeal. Nice hauler, I really like the 30fs, and the 26fs. I am tempted every time I walk through one, however I think our next RV will be a class-A. Have fun.

I didn't see the WDH mentioned, if you don't have one get one.

I use a standard trunnion bar style #14,000/1400. I think that is where you would want to be. Fairly inexpensive, about $250-300, it works well for me. I'm actually surprised the dealer let you leave without a WDH on a trailer that size.

You may also look at upgrading your hitch if it is the stock hitch.
