We are in our mid 50' s and thinking about selling everything....purchasing a used 30 ft. Winnebago. We have no children or permanent ties, except real estate and a cat but she is going with us. Would like to hear from others who have done this.

Go over to the Fulltiming section. There are some threads there.

Welcome to the forum! We have a section on full-timing that may be of help to you. I would suggest having a plan B, just in case of illness, accident, problems at home, etc. Don't know your cicumstances, but don't sell assets to buy a motorhome that will depreciate. Good luck and see you down the road!

We did not start as young as you, but we have been full timing almost 9 years. To our advantage we had been RV'ing for a long-long time before we went full time. There are adjustments to be made. Have you RV'ed before? You might want to try it before you make the big plunge.

I think the biggest hurdle is getting the wife onboard. If you've got that the rest is easy.

Introduce your cat to the MH early and get him used to going for rides. Many cats only travel if going to the vet and it is not a good experience for either them or their owners.

This life isn't a dress rehearsal. Do it while you can, enjoy it and have a back-up plan because someday you WILL have to come off of the road.
