I can only imagine what it's like down there. My TT at 25' struggles to stay cool at triple digits and that's where the humidity isn't bad. I would never be able to keep it cool down south.

If you live in Texas you need two A/C. One will not work.

All of the heat from the lower end goes right up in the bedroom. All of the cooking heat goes in to the bedroom. Any wet heat from a shower stays in the bedroom.
You might end up sleeping in the lower half with a fan blowing on you.
I would even consider a portable A/C unit that vents out a window.

We have 31.5 feet of interior space. I am looking into a second AC but most places we camp have only a 30amp hook up.
I do like the TX heat but need a cold camper to sleep in.

I really don't get some of these comments. Our fiver is 32 feet. It is currently in our driveway near Montgomery AL with no shade. It's about 76 degrees inside using 1ea 13.5k ducted unit. It is running constantly but that isn't really surprising since it's 101 with a heat index of 110 due to humidity.
We just got back from a 9 day Florida trip and it took about 3 hours to fully cool down on arrival.
some suggestions for the OP that have worked for me.
Yes travel with the vents open (we have Maxx Airs and they seemed to help flow air better than just vents). After we installed them and started traveling with the vents open our cool down were definitely shorter.
If you have the max cool vent in your ceiling use it.
I close the vents after about 30 minutes or as soon as I notice the fiver cooling off.
If you haven't been up top and cleaned the condenser coils do so to maximize the efficiency.
I also run the fan on high manual not auto fan.
Also limit going in and out of the unit while trying to cool down.

As others have said, one AC simply will not cut it in TX during the summer. Our 35' Jayco is 30 amp so I added a second AC tied to a separate 20 amp service - similar to what this guy did: Adding a second AC
Works great!

I don't think that it is possible at that temp.It will help to keep insulating foil in the windows while traveling and sitting in place, fan(s) to keep the air moving,As little clothing as your level of modesty will allow.
If you are going to spend much time in that kind of heat,I agree with others
a second AC is needed. And sorry to say, even that will not bring the temps down to what most of us would call comfy.Tolerable?Maybe.
Best advice,go northwest if possible....far northwest! We have been in your positition, (108 degrees)no fun,no fun at all!

We get 110 plus most of summer and I use my fantastic fans first, followed by my air units. No use heating trapped hot air, heat rises as well know and its right at vent height! I too have learned the high fan speed trick. Use auto fan at night, but I have had units freeze up without fan running full blast during the day.

Yup, the neighbor down the road has a fire in the wood-stove, last week was the first week this year I didn't have a fire myself.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

I have a 35' 5er with 2 AC's. Mine is in TX and I would not be down there w/out both AC. My Son is using it in Dallas right now and is very thankful for the 2nd AC.
