My refrigerator failed & I want to replace it with a residential refrigerator. The Dometic refrigerator in my Caribou truck camper won't fit through the door. How do you get it out of the camper?

You might might be able to remove a window and get it out that hole.
I have seen a few, however, where there was NO way to get it out, as the fridge had been installed before the walls went together.

Sometimes you can just remove the door frame and other times a whole window has to be removed. If you TC has a slide then it may have gone in before that was installed. There's not much to the fridge and it could easily be cut up into smaller pieces to get it out if you wont ever need it again.
Now how your going to get the new one in is another question!

Hello. I haven't figured out why the truck camper mfg put such a small door opening in the rigs. I had to remove the cooling unit from the back of refer, then it will fit through the door.
Good luck nm1oqrz

Have you measured the escape hatch over the bed, is the opening large enought to pull your refrigerator thru it. On my Lance815 this openning is large enough to pull my refrigerator thru it and as one poster said you my have to remove the cooling unit.

I have wondered why some folks can get their refrigerator out the door, with the door frame removed, and others cannot. I haven't measured, but at first glance, all of the doors look to be the same size. Some have rounded corners at the top, others square, but the size looks the same.
The refrigerators do vary in size, but I wonder if the front to rear is different?
I had the coil changed on my refrigerator, a few years ago, and it was done on the dinning table, with the table down. It may or may not have fit through the door with the frame removed. It did not fit through the door with the frame in place.

Someone else on here, I think maybe SABconsulting, had to cut up/disassemble his old fridge to get it out if I recall right, but yes, the bigger question becomes getting the new one in!

I just took mine out.
On the fridge I had to remove the hindge plate on top, latch plate on top and the complete lower trim-12 screws total and it fit thru the door no problem.

I had the same problem, but found by removing the frame etc. it would fit through the door.
My replacement fridge was luckily narrower:
