I have a 06 Chevy Duramax, 2500.

Someone asked me to tow their park model to a permanent spot.

Maybe 75 miles of intersate.

40' Trailer.

I am accustomed to pulling 28' TT and have had experince with longer.

Not concerned about my skilss as much as the truck ability to tow safely and not damage truck.

Only things I would be worried about is:

1) capacity of your hitch receiver
2) condition of the trailer's tires

At a minimum you need to know the max conventional trailing capacity for your truck. Then you need to know the tongue weight for the Park Model. Then you'll know if you can tow it.

I agree. Running down the road at 55 won't be bad for 75 as long as the receiver and trailer tires are intact. Use your wd hitch and a calm wind day.

I have pulled new ones out of the factory to dealer lots. Trailers of that size need to be pulled slow with that size truck. I dont drive over 55 MPH with a trailer over 40' long and 12' tall. I wouldnt attempt tp pull an old used Park trailer with my truck.

If it is loaded (someone living in it for a while) the weight may be an issue.

Know a mobile home mover that has to get people to move out like a ton of books, etc so it does not come apart down the road.

I have a park model, and in my opinion, you don't have enough truck, 75 miles is not a short distance, and (at least in Florida) you need a special permit to tow a 12' wide trailer. I also tow a 40' 5th wheel, and I can tell you, my park model is much heavier than my 5'er. I would respectfully decline. Look, they have companies that move these things and it can't be that expensive, as compared to what it would cost if something goes wrong.

Considering the liability you would be incurring, I would pass. They need a commercial mover to do this.

Yep, the one thing I would worry about is liability. If something happened while you are towing it, you are responsible. Your would need insurance to cover it. Since it's for a friend, your current insurance might not cover it...Something to think about.
