My refrigerator stopped working. I turned it on the other day and I could hear the ammonia gurgling in the system and it didn’t get cold. I had been using it nonstop for about 16 months then it sat off for about 3 or 4 months. I have removed the frig and have it setting upside down I have been told that will fix them sometimes. The power works so this should get rid of the vapor lock anyone know how long I should let it sit before I turn it over and reinstall it?
Unlike a compressor type fridge which needs to sit upright for quite a few hours, this absorbtion type unit can be started as soon as you've re-installed it.
OK but how long should it stay upsiddown before I turn it rightside up? It must take some time for the air bubble to dislodge. Will a day do? I turned it last Sunday so if I try it on Saturday is that enough time? Thanks
From what I read on the web, gurgling is a indication that there is a blockage and is pretty much not repairable. Usally caused form getting over heated. Good luck. Keep us posted.
