Trying to decide between Spruce Park on the River or Rocky Mountain Hi Campgrounds in Kalispell. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Tim

I have not been to either of these campgrounds. But my son is a new dentist in Kalispell and we just visited him and family, for about the 5 th time, there a week ago. We spent 2 wks. I like to drive around to get the lay of things and my son and I also went fishing on the Flathead river near the Spruce RV in several locations up and down river from its location. The river is really beautiful.
I looked at both of their web pages. I would choose the Spruce ___ RV. They are even less per day.
Don't miss visiting the small town of Big Fork while you are there. My wife won't make a visit to see the kids in Kalispell without going to Big Fork, too.

We stayed at Spruce Park on the River in 2009 for a week. It was very nice and a well run campground. Will plan to stay there the next time we are in that area and need a campground.

We stayed there in 2009 and as JoeB states it is a very nice park. The river is beautiful, very nice staff at that time and we used it as a home base for touring Whitefish, Glacier Park and the surrounding area. We would definitely stay there again.

Can't be a whole lot of help, but we drove thru both about 45 days ago. Seems that Spruce had more room per site than Rocky unless you get in the rear section of Rocky. Also the gal at Spruce did say that they were getting rid of the mobiles on left as you enter the park and that area will become RV sites also.

Not sure on restaurants. I would also recomend a trip to Big Mountain up by Whitefish MT. you can take a ski lift ride to the top and have lunch at the restaurant up there or a couple drinks. beautiful views of the valley and mountains. we were up there almost to the day back on 05 and there was no snow. so you can do a little walking around. when in Glacier go to Apgar and get some Huckleberry ice cream.....excellent! you may also want to check out Hungry Horse, the resevoir and the dam.

Totally agree with dodge guy the trip to Big Mountain and up the lift to the mountain top is well worth it. You can see many miles and lots of nice scenery on a good day.
There are a number of interesting pubs and restaurants in Whitefish and a lot of the same plus shops in Big Fork.If possible allow some time to explore both areas.
