RE: 19.5" Tire Recomendations

I have a set of Dunop SP's on, and so far they have been great. Very low road noise if any. The rear seem be wearing a little better than the fronts are since i rotated them. I am having them rotated next month for an upcoming trip. Regards to getting them re-treaded/capped, i personally refuse to do that. You run a greater chance of throwing an entire tread, which defeats the purpose of why i went to 19.5's. I would probably think about it more though if i had a dually, i would just buy brand new for the fronts if i retreaded the rears. I too will be surprised if i get 80-100,000 miles out of them.

RE: lighting up the night:::

My vote is for the Sure Fire Defender. Have one in the truck and bought the wife one as well. They are pricey no doubt but the benefits of having a real flash light is amazing pluse a life time warranty. It also doubles as a personal defense weapon, that is why the wife has one. It is bright enough to blind someone temporarily (at night of coarse) then use it to beat the snot out of them. A large flashlight is not a good personal defense weapon since it can easily be controled by the bad guy and taken away from you. Then you better get a gun!

RE: How about this rig!

the thing on top of the Ladder is a weather station. That particular part is for the rain collector. The wind meter is probably being stored. We use that same weather station here at the fire department. Awesome set up!

RE: Ummm ... Lance ... what the ...

To me the graphics look like something off of the now defunct Toy Hauler company Weekend Warrior. To me no big deal, like already mentioned, nothing some spare time and a heat gun cannot handle.

RE: No more worries

You must have a short bed chevy? This is also my biggest problem. One bad head wind in Texas or Nebraska in the middle of no where will give you that pucker factor. Been there done that and it is not fun.

RE: New Super Duty Diesel on the Horizon

I live in California and i want to get rid of my Cat converter! Come next year they say the new diesels will have cleaner air coming out the exhaust than what is going in the intake. This environmental stuff is over the top, and in a lot of cases driving the cost of just about everything up, and driving certain companies out of business at the worse possible time. Unfortunate really.

Sleepy did you work for the national labs? My brother in law works for the lab there in Oak Ridge. He is trying to make his way back to Livermore.

RE: lance 881

Check my sig. Chevy 2500 HD and very happy with the 881. If you buy it then you better get some 19.5 tires. Our rig drives like a dream. Have over 500 nights staying/living in it and with very few problems.

RE: F550 camper project

Wow i admire your tenacity. I dont know if i would have the heart to buy a new camper knowing i was going to cut the rear end off! Very nice looking and cant wait to see the inside with the bunk beds. Have a great time on your shake down cruise!

RE: What would you buy.

If you are looking at a non-slide unit i would buy an S&S or a Northern Lite. If I am looking for a slide unit i would also be looking at Eagle Cap and Host. I purchased what i did because of the layout, it fits me at 6'4" and the factory is not far from me. Would i buy another Lance? Of coarse it has been great to us. Lived in it for 2 years and have over 20,000 miles on it without any problems with Lance manufactured components. The biggest problem is the Atwood jacks mother board does not like the cold. PLEASE do a PDI and save yourself a lot of heart ache. And dont forget to research. That was my favorite part about the purchase!
