RE: Polarized Plugs

I've never understood this myself. If AC current really has no polarity (as often stated on this board) then why make us plug it in only one way?

RE: Number of "Bookmarks" or "Favorites"

will too many "Minimized" web sites cause problems like this. Yes. Minimized apps stay resident in memory, and it's RAM usage that often contributes to computer slowness. If you are truly minimizing the browser and opening a new instance of the browser, that could be your problem. You should be using tabs instead. I don't know how much RAM you have. If it's Gig or less, that's likely the cause.
Defragging is almost always mentioned on this forum as a fix, but it rarely does anything except take a lot of time. The defrag utility will tell you IF your drive needs it, which in all likelihood it won't. Do it anyway if you wish.. but.. I can't recall anyone on here reporting a large increase in speed as a direct result of defragging.

Audiovox (XM) support -remote

I recently got XM radio - an Audiovox.
I was playing with the remote and noticed it wouldn't turn the radio on. I contacted support. The response was to replace the battery. I did that (there was nothing wrong with the battery) - I decided this must be a 'feature' and there must be something I've missed in the manual. Sure enough, buried in the manual on page 50 was one line "When the radio is off in the car cradle the remote will not turn it on." Ok good.. but what about when the radio is in a boombox? I reopened my incident report and asked that question. Back came the same response "replace the battery."
I politely told the gal my previous findings - and that a poster on an XM website said the remote will never turn it on because there's no power to it - rendering it incapable of recognizing a remote signal. That seemed logical, but how would I know?
The response was "I really don't know. I'll get back to you." ARG!!!!!

RE: Another toilet question

t flip on the exhaust fan when you flush.. should take the smell out pretty much I would think? No, if you run an exhaust fan at the moment of flushing, it will suck smell in from the tank. Flush, leave water in the bowl, then run the fan.

RE: Another toilet question

Cost is one reason. Another is the design of the toilet. RV toilets don't use water in the same way a house toilet does. It would be a pain to have to hold the valve and fill the bowl enough to flush, and you can imagine how that would be a problem in a sewer hose. Conversely, a toilet with a water closet would use too much water when dry camping.

RE: Storage Honda 2000

the handle is nothing but plastic and can be cut in half in just a few seconds True, but thieves don't want the generator, they want the money it gets at a pawn shop. Kinda tough to explain to the buyer how that happened.

Any chance a nearby remote, perhaps yours or a neighbor's is causing this?
