RE: I need help finding the exact TH I'm looking for...

Perfect timing for this post. I'm considering getting a TH to haul a golf cart and some horse show gear but need to use my 3/4 ton Duramax to pull it. I'll keep an eye on this thread as I can't seem to locate a FW TH with a GVWR of under 12,000# so that the 3/4 ton can carry it. The Attitude/Stellar 28*** is under 12K GVW, perfect for My truck.

RE: I need help finding the exact TH I'm looking for...

It's really hard to find a 2 axle TH with a garage longer than 10ft. The closest thing I can think of for you to look at is the Keystone Fuzion 342. It has an advertised 12 ft garage, 2 axles - GVWR of 16.5k I think. and 3 slides. I really regret not getting that model Fuzion 342 floorplan Thanks for the info. There are actually quite a few 12' models with dual axle. Just about every brand has one but they I just have not found the exact one I want. Thanks again! If your talking a separate garage, the kind that has a wall or door between the garage and living space, most if not all the shorter/lighter haulers are 10'. If your talking about the other style where there is no door/wall separator, there are quite a few. I know since thats what were looking for and have a Rhino that won't fit in a 10' separate garage, even though we like several of the models. We like the 28**** Attitude/Stellar and still need to find a Cyclone 2812 to check it out. Trying to stay 14K or less, so that limits a lot !!

RE: Bigger Freshwater Tank

I have one of those sewer pipe caps that has a garden hose connection on it. Use a standard garden hose to drain the grey tank away from camp and I do it at night so the rangers aren't likely to see.

RE: GOT MY (LT) MAN CARD.....I did IT!!!!!

I think you will be happy with the change My rig tows better with the LT's, stiffer sidewalls = less sway and bouncing. I was getting about 1 1/2 years out of a set of ST's before they started to bubble or separate. Going on 2 years with the LT's.

RE: Generac guardian oscillating

Dirt Bag, i have no experience with Generac, but have worked on most Gennies out there. As suggested, remove the gas cap first, depending on how far away the tank is from the pump, even a little extra restriction can cause a problem. Second, I would suspect the fuel pump is getting hot and not pumping enough fuel. I would think if there was something wrong with the governor, it would not take ~45 mins to act up, but again since its electrical, it might get hot and cause a problem. Many friends I have camped with have replaced a fuel pump, common problem. Hope you get it fixed soon. Bob J

RE: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???

Ever notice how a "pro" does it once, but us average guys, who read instructions after the fact with a beer in hand, always seem to do it at least twice.Just proves we are not so lazy that we can't do it over and over....and at times it's still not right. Never been in a professional shop where they were drinking beer and working, but if I ask the buddies to help me,first thing we do is have a beer. Glad you figured it out. Funny, I read the instructions and watched a video. It looked like I could replace the fabric without removing the whole assembly, wrong. To remove it from the side of the trailer, the awning fabric had to go forward since there is a light fixture just to the rear of the track. The slot in the drum went the other way. Hindsight, I could have removed the light fixture and most likely slid the fabric out. Oh well, got R done

RE: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???

One thing I learned where I used to work: "There's never time enough to do it right, but there's always time enough to do it over." :) When I was a manager in a tire and auto center, I had a sign over my desk that said just that.

RE: Cyclone 2812

Something else came to mind, a propane Genny. I know it should eliminate the fuel in the carb going bad, but how much propane does it use ?? and should that not be a concern. We usually do very well on propane in our present rig, unless its below freezing outside and the heater runs a lot, we rarely use much. Just wondering :W

RE: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???

Replaced the awning fabric, such fun !! I did learn its better to follow the instructions :S I cut off the old one and then removed the frame from the rig, then try to remember what slots things go back into and which way to roll on the fabric on to the drum. The instructions say remove the whole assembly from the rig, lay it on the ground and remove the fabric, noting which slots and what direction things go. Oh well, got it done.

RE: 2012 Raptor with Towmasters = BOOOM!!!

I had 2 sets of Maxxis ST tires, 6 of 8 of them separated. The good thing, they did not explode and damage the rig, the bad thing, I had to buy more tires.

RE: 2012 Raptor with Towmasters = BOOOM!!!

I spent 20 years in tire shops, everything from mounting/balancing them to being the service manager/asst. manager of the store., Add to that another 24+ years working in a fleet of ~ 2000 pieces of equipment that had tires. If there is such a tire, I am not aware of it, I do have many contacts and friends in the industry, seems odd that NONE of them will put ST tires on anything they own. I have another friend who owns a towing company and a big fan of custom and classic cars. He bought a couple of enclosed car haulers so He could transport custom/classic vehicles for some of His clients. Hey MrKnowitallBOB!!! this post was about taking CHINABOMBs off and replacing with good tire.!! Nothing about I'm looking to hire someone whos worked in tire shop so post your resume :B So, why don't you post where a "good tire" comes from ?? I'm retired and not looking for a job.

RE: Cyclone 2812

Thanks for the reply's Budman, I need to measure both the Attitude/Stellar and the Cyclone height and make sure the Rhino will fit. The Rhino has made Us rule out several rigs with separate garages since many are only 10'. I think you can get a single bed in the rear, but not sure.

RE: 2012 Raptor with Towmasters = BOOOM!!!

How many posts are we going to see about crappy ST tires? I don't care if they are in 16" size or 15" size. People are fooling themselves trying to run these. It is only a matter of time until you have an issue. Anyone with a big heavy toyhauler should be converting over to LT tires. Looka here....RV.net/Toyhaulers has a certified Mr Knowitall on Toyhauler tires :B Actually, yes. I have had so many PMs over the years asking about LT tires, people thanking me for convincing them to switch over. Sorry you haven't learned that yet. Keep reading young Jedi and you will figure this out. Yea i'm a (Young Jedi) at dealing with trailers/ trailers tires.....since the other toys i referred to ride on triple axle boat trailer, in a 28ft enclosed and on 40ft gooseneck to name a few of my trailers!! I'm thinkin maybe some of u Mr. KnowitAlls oughtta take break from RV.NET and watch lil porn.. :B Back on topic!!!! If you got CHINA BOMBs on your camper.. Go ahead and replace them with good tire before they go KA BOOOM:) Since you seem to know what ST tire is a "good tire" please let Us know what brand. One of His clients owns a tire shop, guess where I went for advice on tires. The tire shop guy didn't want to sell Me the tires, He wanted Me to go to a national chain store and get them since I travel and might need warranty service elsewhere. I trust My Friends as well as my own personal experience

Thanks Bob!!!!! :) NO PROBLEM I should have listened to You sooner My new rig will have 16" rims to start with and as soon as I get over the "down payment blues", it will be sporting L T's :B

Cyclone 2812

One of the remaining 2 rigs I am considering Anybody have one and what are you towing it with ?? IF the "dry weight" is correct or close, I should be OK with my T V. I know the Max GVW is over what my rig is rated for, but I am not planning to load it up to 14K. obviously batteries/propane/gas and water add some weight, I have a ~1250# Rhino and a ~275# D S bike. DW likes the bedroom slide over the Attitude/Stellar Bedroom. T V is rated at 12.5 to 13K depending on whose chart I look at. Thanks

RE: Fifth Wheel hitch

THANKS for the reply's Got some ideas on what to check out, I would like to have things done before I buy the rig.

Fifth Wheel hitch

I am nearing the process of selling Our T H and moving up to a Fiver. My question relates to who makes a decent hitch for my T V ? 08 GMC 2500 HD D Max 4X4 long bed. All the rigs were interested in weigh 14K or less and at least 2 are under 12.5K. Don't need a slider since its a long bed. Don't want something they have to "carve up" the truck to make it fit. Being a mechanic all my life, I want it done right and preferably minimal cutting/drilling. Dealer can do it, but I would prefer having a choice and hearing the "good/bad/ugly" of any particular models. Thanks
