RE: Any photos of the NEW Roadtrek SS Ideal?

i dont think itll be too far into the future that we see dual full wall slides, and more miniaturization of mechanical and electrical components, maybe electric or alternative powered "b's" would be a breath of fresh air. more efficiency, more use of solar etc.
I HAVE A DREAM.................

RE: Any photos of the NEW Roadtrek SS Ideal?

>>Great West Van had slides for a long time and because of lack of interest stopped making them in the last couple years.<<
The funny thing with that model is IMHO with the slide out, it didnt feel any roomier. honestly i felt cramped in there. no offense to current owners.

RE: Any photos of the NEW Roadtrek SS Ideal?

whats cool about this is the evolution of the "b". im sure there will be one day when both sides pop out and everything transforms just like george jetsons briefcase. there will always be, (no pun intended) early and late adopters and in the end "to each his own". Just looking into the future and putting a little perspective into the mix.
ps who remembers that vw concept van

RE: Any photos of the NEW Roadtrek SS Ideal?

The thing that I find puzzling about this whole topic is that with over 50 posts and over 1,600 views, not one person from Louisville Kentucky (which has a population of over 1/4 million I believe) has been to the RV show and replied to this tread. I guess there are not many Class B's in Kentucky.
Perhaps, RT was just showing a proof of concept van. Maybe they were out gauging dealer
interest before really committing to the project. I know the more I've thought about it, the
less appealing. Then again this is all speculation until RT makes some sort of official
announcement. Personally I wish they would hurry up. Prior to this monkey wrench, I was 90% of the way with another vendor. Guess we'll all wait and see now.
yes it was a dealer show not open to the public.

RE: Any photos of the NEW Roadtrek SS Ideal?

@ handbasket------i was told by Daryll (roadtrek) from the show that the 2 rear doors open up allowing the slide to expand. i believe that rogers picture is with doors open and slide out. im just speculating though. The idea was to have the driveablility of the short sprinter while travelling and have the space of the long sprinter while docked.

i think in rogers pix both of the rear doors are open and the slide is out. im just guessing too. from what the rep told me, it sounded like the doors were the same. just speculating

RE: Any photos of the NEW Roadtrek SS Ideal?

i just called again and i spoke with daryll? at the show and it is true. stop being so hostile and relax. its called the SS ideal. go call and ask them again. you will see and then you will eat your words. why would you attack my integrity when ive never posted anything untrue or have a reputation of doing such. ive been on this forum twice as long as most of you.
other updates are new storage compartments on the 210
new electronics.
new cabinet formations on the 170
i was told that there was alot of little minor changes made to the up and coming roadtreks.
again, call roadtrek and ask to be fwd to the rep at the louisville show.
then when you get the correct info, i accept your apology in advance.

RE: Pleasure Way or Roadtrek

i currently own a 2004 roadtrek C190V. and ive previously owned a 1999 dodge 170p. Having said that, I will say its amazing how my preferences have changed in 10 years. Ive been a "trekker" for over 10 years now and i will say that im currently in the process of jumping ship to the pleasureway. For the most part, those shopping for one will/should choose the floorplan that works for them. I am looking at the Ford Excel because its the roomiest of the class Bs even compared to the Roadtrek 210. headroom, elbow room, walking around room, perception of openess.
Fit and finish in my humble opinion is much better in the pleasureway. if you look at the seams. or under the countertop in the roadtrek looks very spacey and unfinished.
i know some will complain about the room around the driver and passenger areas in the excel and they have valid points.
some will also complain about the handling of the excel but those have been improved and are able to fix to your liking.
overall i recommend that you sit, drive and spend time in the units your looking for. like i said i loved the versatile plan and as times have changed i now am looking at the excel because it fits my use ...................................for now. Good luck

RE: Commode Issues

sometimes there will be calcium buildup in the commode pipes that will block the flow. sometimes it builds up in the sink faucet screen thing. unscrew the spout piece and see if you have little white pebbles of calcium. if you do then its a good chance that those pebbles are built up in your commode.
good luck

RE: hw mch wld you realistically pay for a '04 RT w/140k miles

>>Whether it has 100k or 140k, value will be pretty consistent. Plus, if you look in the automotive version of NADA, which takes mileage up to 150,000 the difference between 100k and 140k on an '04 is about $875 (picking a Class II vehicle just as an example). <<
well thats the kind of info that im looking for. Is that how you would devalue beyond the 100K?
if the entire vehicle looks and works great with the only derogatory mark are the mileage would $875 be enough to cover the rest of the 40k?
