RE: am i being too picky ?

One real advantage of buying used is that you don't have a warranty. When something doesn't work there's no need to spend days hassling over who will fix it and when. What a great comment - its so true.

RE: All you guys with ducted AC look here

Well, the problem is that the tape that Keystone used to seal that duct to the A/C unit either was loose or non-existent.Not all duct tape is created equal. Never buy that cheap stuff at home depot or hardware stores for sealing HVAC joints.
Nashua is the brand you want and # 357 is the highest grade tape for AC work.
OK - good (but incomplete) advice - I always looked at mil thickness.
So, I won't buy the cheap stuff at Home Depot or Hardware stores!
But - Where do I (we) get Nashua #357 ? Is it also avail at the above?
Thanx.

RE: Arizona snowbird business has rebounded

An older survey by AZ State University School of Business estimated that snowbirds contributed over 1 million dollars to the AZ economy! Thats not very much. They must bring their own food & fuel.

RE: need new tires/alignment in Phoenix

We've had work done at Roberts Tire in Mesa and were very satisfied. And while you are at it have them check ride height too.
Its a large facility for trucks & motorhomes.

RE: Best Way to Heat the RV

They kick on and it gets warm, they turn off and the RV gets cold. This pretty much sums up the problem and is consistent with homes/vehicles/spaces that lack adequate insulation.
Do what you can to improve insulation of windows, etc. Other suggestions about thermostat and fans are OK too.

RE: Overnight parking off I-10/Indio area?

It may be a little farther west of Indio than you want, Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa is located just off I-10 in Cabazon, CA
From the east, exit at the Cabazon (Main Street) exit. Turn right (north) at the exit. Turn left (west) on Seminole Drive. We overnight at the Morongo Casino each time we pass this area. Good parking, courtesy shuttle if you need it, and the lowest fuel prices around.
Can't miss the tall casino hotel - it can be seen for miles.

RE: Does a digital thermostat cause more cycling of furnace?

Anybody know of a T-stat thats made to work with a specific RV A/C unit?
Yes, manufacturers will have different control requirements. Some units get by with only 3 or 4 of the standard wires, some need more. My home heatpump is a Rheems and many digital stats will not work with it because of the start-up delay requirements.Yes my question was poorly stated.
There're really not mfg specific t-stats per se but there are stats designed for specific uses such as a heat pump application where you need to pull in the reversing valve and/or using another type aux heat.

RE: Does a digital thermostat cause more cycling of furnace?

his advice was to stick with using a thermostat that was made specifically to work with your actual A/C unit.
Anybody know of a T-stat thats made to work with a specific RV A/C unit? :h
I'd be more inclined to believe mfg's buy the cheapest thing that gets the job done.
