RE: installing a house toilet in our trailer

Bob.. I didn't change it just because of my wife. At least not completely. After a few years the seal started leaking and wouldn't hold water in the bowl. There for we got a small amount of odor in side. I was going to replace the seal and after taking it apart, the cables, springs, everything inside was rusted and was junk. After checking, I would put about the same $$ on this toilet as if I bought another trailor toilet. You know the saying "happy wife, happy life" One more minor issue you may have is if the water sloshes out of the trap, or evaporates over time your TT will stink

RE: Unhitching an Equalizer 4-Point

Here is a video...VIDEO LINK Unhitching is same process - in reverse. Um .... No, it's not the same. Every video out there shows using the cheater bar to leverage the bar into place, without the bars all the way up on top to start with. That is no help on un-hitching. It is NOT the reverse and the video is fraudulent by having the unhitching word in the title. I do get it though, just am concerned that in some situations it might be difficult to get the tongue up enough to release the bars. You don't "have" to use the cheater bar!!!! as I said I only used my once!! and not every video shows using the bar as one was posted. 99.9 percent of the time you can raise the jack enough to get the bars on and off with no help. Also get an electric jack if you don't have one

RE: Unhitching an Equalizer 4-Point

When ready to unhook I raise the tongue about 2 inches, then I do carry a crow bar with me to pry the bars out. Also have a cheater pipe to put them on if the site is unlevel it can be a pain. If it's really bad, I just wait until I get to the office, or dump station

RE: Trailer novice here, can you help me plug in my TT?

OP, i'm, guessing that you didn't make sure everything worked on the TT before buying it, since there was no way to plug it in?

RE: Trailer novice here, can you help me plug in my TT?

You are looking for a coiled up SHORE POWER CABLE... Roy Ken You should have something like this that will allow you to plug in at a CG. With the adapter you can plug in at home. shore power cord Thanks guys. So in effect I need two adapters.... one that's the shore-power cord, which will adapt from 30amp to 15amp, then the regular 15amp to 110 adapter? Why would they do it like this? If shore power is 15amp, why have a 30amp plug on the trailer that then requires an adapter cord to make it shore-power ready? I don't know anything about shore power, I usually dry camp. But on this trip we'll be shore powered quite often so I need to figure this out in advance. Your camper is 30 amps...if you have the proper shore cable, it will plug into most CG Receptacles. You should only need the adapter when plugging into 15 amp. Have you found the shore cable pictured above? If not contact the previous owner.

RE: X-chocks with spread axle

All you need is the standard chocks. I got rid of my x-chocks after they allowed the trailer to roll forward as it came off of the tongue block. X-chocks are ment to stabilize the back and forth rocking motion of the trailer once it is set up. They are not ment to take the place of regular wheel chocks for parking it. I didn't know that. I've been using X's for a couple of years now and I can't even make the trailer roll with them attached. Are some trailers more susceptible to rolling while X-chocked than others? Under what circumstances is the trailer at risk of rolling with X's attached? Some people don't recheck them after the tires are cooled down and could loosen up...I have never had an issue with standard X's

RE: Northern Illinois Camping Group Spring rally June 7th-9th

Hello Everyone! I just saw this post and found your FB site too. Our family is new to camping and would like to meet some local(ish) people that also love to camp. We took our new TT to Paul Wolff last weekend for our first time and loved it! (We live across the street, so we'll hopefully be there a lot this year!) We still have a TON to figure out but we're getting there. Holly Welcome, were you thinking of coming to the rally?

RE: 12v Impact Wrenches

I use a drill...I cannot stand the sound of impacts while i'm camping, so I figured I wouldn't do it to others

RE: Harbor Frt Cordless Drill or Impact

We use a Rigid that came with 2 battery packs. Have been using it around the house for a number of years and now we have used it to lower our stabilizer jacks for the last 18 months. One of the battery packs isn't holding a charge like it use to so I think it may be getting time to buy another drill. Seems the battery packs are almost as much as the drill. if you registered your kit you get free lifetime replacement

RE: No dash camera for me

More and more responsible, safe truck drivers are using dash cams, as well as ones that see both sides of the truck. For them, it is just a method of self-defense. As many drivers do not recognize the size and handling abilities of a big truck, carefree and careless drivers tend to get the trucks into difficult and/or disasterous situations every day. And with less than scrupious lawers, out there, trying to get a settlement out of anything, Truckers need all the help they can get. That said, truckers can and are recording and reporting more and more drivers doing stupid and illegal things. With a camera capable of recording time, speed. location and time, all the driver has to do is turn in the SD card at the next weigh station, where it can be reviewed and turned over to the local authorities for further action. it goes both ways

RE: Lynx Levelers

I'll be honest, I wouldn't even know how to spam using our Facebook page. As for Facebook's data collection techniques, that's out of our control. We find it's the best way to connect to our customers, we don't have a twitter (nor planning on it), or anything else social. It's just a place to talk about camping mostly. We like to give things away because it creates a buzz, and honestly it's more fun to give things away rather than put ads in magazines that few people read. Just thought I'd chime in. You could donate a set to me and i'd be happy to create a buzz for you:B

RE: Gas Grills?

I have had the Weber Q for years now...and it seems to be the messiest and hardest grill to keep clean I wonder what model because my Q100 is easy to clean, the grates come off for brushing, the interior is easy access to wipe down and there is a drip hole in which allows the liquids to go to a pan in which is cleanable. :h Most grill you don't "have" to wipe down..These you do other wise you will have grease EVERYWHERE..I hate the grates...they trap a lot of grease....just a pain in the @ss in general. My tote bag for the grill is nothing but a greasy mess

RE: campgrounds to stay away from?

Everyone has different opinion of what the like or dislike in a CG. There is really no way to answer that one
