RE: Canadian BofA account application problem

I'm a little bit concerned. Last evening I got a call from a person claiming to represent RBC US as my personal banker. He had my phone no., address, cell no., correct name. He followed up with an email with my account no. and wants my mother's maiden name plus for me to fax signature samples to him. It's probably all genuine but I think I'll do some checking before sending him any information.
I deal with lots of things by e-mail. A bank has never been one of them.

RE: Flat screen T V

My mounted Televisions in both my units are mounted but are also tied back so they don't move around when travelling.

RE: Flat screen T V

At present time I just leave my flat screen television in my trailer. It is mounted. In my Class B I also leave it in. It is also mounted. I live where it can get to -40F. Previously on one of my other trailers I just layed it flat on bed and put blanket over it. I have never had a problem. In real cold weather I would let Television get warmed up first before turning on. Thats what i do.

RE: SEEMS U.S. DOES NOT WANT SNOWBIRD'S

Canada is known as a gateway to the U.S. for illegals from all over the world. If they tightened up their immigration laws, we wouldn't have to make ours so strict. Do what is required to visit this country and I'm sure you'll have no problems. If not, you apparently will.
Canada does not let illegal people into the USA. If one goes through the boarder crossings it would be USA officials who let in Illegal people. Thats where you stop when going in. The opposite would apply when going into Canada. It would then be up to Canadian Officials to stop Illegals coming in.

RE: Florida Thunderstorm Warnings - awning in or out ?

Spent my time physically holding ours down. No more lights, dodads, plants, flags, etc. on ours.
Same here.
On another RV forum, someone told the story of an RV park they always stayed at where winds would come up suddenly. They were in a position where they could see the wind coming (desert, wind kicked up dust) and they'd put in their awning and then go around and help other people put up their awnings. There was one couple who had their awning tied down with concrete blocks and they insisted that their awning would be OK...no amount of talking would convince them otherwise.
When this particular wind storm was over, the poster went around to assess the damage...the awning that had been tied down with concrete blocks had blown clear over the top of their rig carrying the blocks with them...which had hit the opposite side of their rig and made huge holes in the side!!! They're just lucky someone didn't get hit and killed by one of those flying concrete blocks.
I think those are the same people that post here all the time. "I haven't used a water pressure regulator (or Surge Protector), etc. for the 50 years I have been RVing and haven't ever had a problem."

RE: When first time snowbirding.....

Coalminer,
I am sure you will enjoy the "B" in AZ & NM, especially their State Parks. We have spent a lot of time in both states in 5th wheels and are now travelling in a "B", and are finding it gives us much more freedom to move and explore.
Have fun; the route down to Vegas through Nevada is something to consider; beautiful, no freeway and uncrowded. That is the route we are planning on our way down in early Dec.
Barry
Hi Barry

RE: When first time snowbirding.....

This will be our first year. My wife and I are just going to go and take it one day at a time. We have no serious plans other that to dewinterize at Las Vegas Area. From there into Arizona , SW corner NM and into Texas. I will keep eye on weather in case we run into cold and have to winterize again real fast.We will be in a Class B MH.
