RE: What is the typical 'shelf life' of the engine/powertrain?
My wild guess for a typical gas rig would be in the 50K to 75K miles. The logic for this estimate is the work that a gas engine has to do. In a car, 150K is more typical, but the car gets up to 20 mpg. In a motorhome, the mileage is more like 7 mpg. Transmissions can last longer if properly maintained, but many owners replace both engine and transmission with rebuilt units at the same time.
As for diesels, Cummins their engines have the pan dropped and bearings & rings checked at 300K. That doesn't even require the block be removed from the chassis.

RE: State Farm Insurance Now Covers Part Of Mexico
What the policy does is cover you for your expenses in paying for damage that you caused. While State Farm may not be recognized in Mexico, you could post bond on your own and have State Farm reimburse you later.
I believe that is what State Farm's endorsement means.

RE: WIndshield gasket replacement?
I would recommend contacting a auto glass replacement shop and ask them for recommendations. I've been under the impression that the gaskets were generic.
A second option is to contact Monaco and ask for National Parts. They should be able to provide you with a replacement gasket.

My understanding from Monaco's web site that they were only making the Endeavor and Scepter in the Holiday Rambler diesel pusher lineup. No mention of the Navigator or Imperial. The old Monaco web site only shows those two HR DPs for the 2009 model year.
Waco Kid mentioned he saw a 2010 Navigator being sold, so maybe things have changed? Or, could that have been an unsold 2008 Navigator, or even a 2009 model built in mid 2008?

I would suggest going to Costco or Sam's Club and get a compact camera in the $200 to $300 price range. That should give you enough quality and still be easy to use.
I bought a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-7200 that is very convenient to use since it fits in my pants pocket. I also have a Nikon Coolpix 5700 for pictures requiring a higher resolution. I'll be buying a Nikon D-90 (to replace my N-50 film camera)SLR for top quality photos. Finally, I have a camera built in to my Blackberry that I've used just because it is so convenient. Each camera has it's pluses and minuses.

The Blue Ox is a good tow bar and worth $400 or less used. The Brake Buddy isn't worth $0.10 in my book, unless you need it to qualify for legal reasons.

That's fine. A reading of 180 to 210 is normal for the ISC or 8.3.
At a Cummins seminar I attended, the technicians called the motorhome instrument panels "entertainment panels" since the instruments were typically inaccurately calibrated. What you want to do is just watch for a change in the reading and not pay too much attention to the numbers.

Don't use salt. As others suggested, just use the pink anti-freeze for RVs. It won't take much unless it gets really cold, then a little more might be needed. It's cheap, easy and won't harm anything.

The easiest method I know of is to use Windows E-Mail sending program. Right click on the photo, select Send To, Mail Recipient, then medium or small size.
Another method is to click and open in Windows Photo Gallery, then E-Mail, and same as above.
If you have Adobe, you can open the photo, then save and select size and other options, same to another file name, and then send. I'm sure some other photo processing programs have similar options.

Banks and dealers use the NADA published book which contains a third set of numbers, the wholesale figures. Those wholesale figures are about 80% of low retail. Also, banks and dealers don't add in for any options, but subtract for high mileage. Due to the economy and the price of money (flooring costs) dealers won't buy a used unit unless it is significantly less than wholesale, or they need to do so to sell a new RV.
Deals between private parties are typically at wholesale or in that range since it is more than what a dealer will buy it for.

RE: water pump question
Have I got this right?
The "vapor lock" you've described is air in the pump itself and the pump can't build up pressure pumping air. But, when you go around and open each faucet and let the air out, it then works fine? I'm also assuming it didn't do this before installing the new pump, so you can pretty much rule out the source of the air being anywhere else but at the pump, or one of the fittings you loosened installing the pump.
My first suggestion would be to bleed the air out of the whole system by leaving the pump on and open the faucets and let the water run for a minute or more. Then check all the fittings at the pump plus any of those you may have loosed in the process of installing the pump. If that doesn't correct the problem, take a spray bottle of water and spray the pump housing (not the motor) and the fittings. Remember, air can leak in through a small hole that water won't leak out of.

Prior to last year, we stayed for five seasons at Shangri La Resort on Frontage Rd in the Foothills, about 10 miles east of Yuma's downtown. We last paid about $450 a month, but it was a little less per month for a three month commitment. I'd recommend the place for someone not familiar with the area.
We now stay on a private lot in the same area.

I agree with Dick_B.
We took a tour of the Monaco factory in Colburg about two years ago and had the opportunity to talk to some of the engineers. They just didn't get it! It seemed if it was possible to engineer something, they did, regardless if it was an improvement. I suppose they thought they were improving their job security. Oh, Monaco went Bankrupt early this year and reopened after the assets were bought by Navistar. Maybe Navistar has more enlightened engineers.
Maybe the new engineers will actually spend some time in their designs.

I use one that I made up, but it is unique to my setup. I keep one copy in the center console and another in the glove box.
I used the owner's manual for the sequence to put the transfer case into neutral, Roadmaster's instructions for the braking system, and finally my own reminders.

If the gasket has moved off center, the better solution might be to disassemble the toilet and replace the seal. It's not that hard. Depending on the model, you may have to only remove the top half or if it doesn't come apart, pull the toilet off the floor and turn it over. Either task is easier than it looks.

Monaco, Fleetwood, Tiffin and many others built DPs in the 38 to 45 ft range that had triple or four slides. You shouldn't have any difficulty finding several to choose from. Good luck.
Oh, with that much weight you may want to consider limiting your choices to a chassis with a 500 hp diesel, such as the Cummins ISM.
