RE: Michelin tires

About twice what you would pay for most other top tier tires in that size....:B Not helpful or true +1

RE: Mich XRV tire.

Last Summer, we replaced our XRV's with XRV's. I agree with the above poster....these are the best RV tires ever made. :)

RE: 5 Star Tuning for 8.1 Workhorse

I also had the Ultrapower, and was grateful to recieve a full refund on it as there was never any power increase, and in fact the MPG DECREASED. :E I too am interested in hearing about the 5-Star tuner. :)

RE: Loveland Pass/Tiger Run RV resort

I'm not saying that you absolutely won't wish you had chains if you cross the High passes at the worst times; but, the chain law is for "Commercial" vehicles. That's not to say that a State Trooper will be very happy with you if you block traffic, stuck where you can't get off the road. They'll get an expensive wrecker to pull. I live in CO and cross the Rockies on every trip, I've crossed with my MH in snow pack conditions but never in a bad snow storm and don't want to. I-70 is C DOTs top priority road and they keep it plowed pretty well, but use common sense, don't take a MH up there in a blizzard, relax at Tiger Run and take a shuttle to Keystone, Breckenridge, or numerous other ski areas. Well look at that! Max49 chiming in! :B And....I agree with everything he is saying.... PS, we live up at 8,600 feet in Colorado, and DON'T carry chains, and never have needed them....and we have come across the passes here in some snow storms....just lucked out/careful driving I guess! ;)

RE: Pulling Jeep Unlimited

My 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2-door completely stock weighs 4,160 lbs exactly. I'm sure the Unlimited (4-door) weighs several hundred lbs more!

RE: Balancing new tires

We bought our new Michelin XRV 22.5 sized tires at Costco, and had them spin balanced down the street at a Goodyear truck tire place. They said they balance all the truckers tires, and don't use the equal powder. Great tires with a great balance! can't beat that!

Brake Buddy with Cool Tech harness on Jeep JK?

Hi, I am going to install the Cool Tech wiring harness on our 2012 Jeep JK which I intend to tow behind my motorhome. The Cool Tech harness is a plug and play that will give you lights on the Jeep. Will I have issues using the Brake Buddy plugged in the Jeep with the voltage backfeeding into the motorhome 12 volt system when the brake pedal is activated?

RE: tires

Costco?? We did you have install them? Had them installed at the Goodyear Tire place down the street for $35 each....including spin balance with steel weights....none of the powder nonsense.

RE: tires

We just replaced our 7 year old Michelin XRV 22.5 tires with Michelin XRV's (bought from Costco)....We had excellent service with the original XRV's so we replaced them with the same brand.

RE: Tires and dot code

My 22.5 Michelin XRV tires just purchased at Costco were right at 6 months old. If the dates are less than 6 months, and stored in a warehouse, they are fine. Tires certainly don't age fast in a cool warehouse, but start the aging as soon as they are installed.

RE: Windshield - exterior sunscreens

Sorry you didn't like the Prompt screens. Like I said, 6 years and still going. No snaps means no hauling out the ladder. I have ours up in the time it takes others to get the ladder out. Sorry they didn't work for you. Any slight sage isn't worth the hassle of snaps and ladders. Barb Still needed a ladder with the Prompts I gave away. The Prompt front cover straps went over the front side windows, so the front side window covers bulged out with the straps under them. The idea of suction cups holding these things on are rediculous and you still needed a small ladder. I love the Sunguards, as the stainless steel snaps insure that the installation is fast and secure with NO wrinkles on any of the shades. Plus, the wind doesn't flap them around anymore, and the material is much heavier than the Prompts. Oh....I can install the 3 Sunguard window covers faster than the Prompts I gave away. :W

RE: Lazydays sales

they have a HUGE problem with using the customers units for their spare parts bin. Ours was moved there by the manufacturer, from another dealers lot because of extremely poor service, and while it was there the Lazy Days techs robbed it blind. The cost to replace parts they stole was in the thousands......Only fools trust Lazy Days for anything. I've never heard anything like this happening anywhere! Please expand on your post about what the "techs robbed blind" on your unit. :RThe fridge, water heater and 2 furnaces were stripped for parts, including ALL circuit boards. The stove was missing parts and the AC was missing a circuit board. One window was removed and the opening covered by plastic. All told, the cost to get it back to the condition it was when moved there by the manufacturer, was in excess of $3000. They tried to claim that was the way it was received, but pictures and their own "inspection" sheet said otherwise. The unit was less than 4 months old when the manufacturer picked it up at the selling dealer and moved it to them. I will NEVER take a unit to them for repairs, unless I am standing right there watching the techs work on it. I have spent many days there having work done under and out of warranty and have NEVER heard a hint of what you SAY happened to any rig whatsoever. Are you sure the rig was delivered with all the parts? It doesn't make sense that such a professional company would do such. Knowing quite a few of the upper and lower management something just doesn't float here. Exactly! There is obviously more to the story that The Texan isn't telling us. This story doesn't float with me either!

RE: The goods, and the bads of a Gas MH

We just traded in a 32' Winnebago Brave on a P-30 chassis. That got around 9 mpg. We now have a 35' Winnebago Voyage on a W22 Workhorse with the 8.1 GM engine. We expect to get about the same mileage out of this one with the 6 speed Allison. I dont know what the owners of the W-22/24 chassis are smoking when they report they are getting 9 mpg. :R It flat doesn't happen. Expect 7.1 to 7.8. towing and 7.9 to 8.2 solo.

RE: Where do you buy new tires from?

Although this might not work for the OP, we bought our Michelin 235/80R22.5 XRV's at Costco (cheaper than the FMCA pricing), and had them mounted at Goodyear Wingfoot down the street. Mounting was $35/tire, and included spin balance, and not the powder packet nonsense that other installers were going to do. ;)
