RE: Yet another Prodigy question/problem

How did you turn the brake controller off. Mine doesn't have an on/off switch. I'd have to unplug it to turn it off.
I adjusted the brake force to zero. The controller will be all powered up but will not apply the brakes.

RE: Yet another Prodigy question/problem

Brake light switch adjustment, or brake peddle not returning to full-up. Those are the two things I'd check first. Jack
I need to look closer at the brake light switch

RE: Yet another Prodigy question/problem

You say your brake lights are working right… how do you know that while you are pulling out from a light???
Maybe the brake light switch is adjusted borderline…
Is the controller mounted correctly and mounted solidly???
Could be a internal problem with the controller… you might get a better answer from Tec support…
I can see my truck brake lights light up on the front of my trailer.
The controller is well mounted and has been working good for 3+ years.
This seems like an internal problem with the controller. I just wanted to check here first.

RE: Yet another Prodigy question/problem

I'd probably start at the trailer plug looking for a short.
I don't think so Skip. A short at the plug wouldn't add power to my trailer brakes that I could turn off from the brake controller.

Yet another Prodigy question/problem

I'm sure this has been asked and answered several times. So shoot me if I'm a DS.
Yesterday after towing my trailer for about 30 minutes. I started to take off from a light and the trailer brakes came on. The display on my Prodigy went up to about 5.0 then back down to 0.0 When I was driving down the road the display was jumping from 0 to 2. It did this several times until I just turned the brake controller off.
My brake lights are working normally so I assumed the brake input to the Prodigy was fine. We are talking abuot the truck and trailer in my sig. Any help would be appreciated

RE: Fresh water question

I keep my tank full all the time....and bring drinking water when we go out.....It's stored in my driveway and if nothing else it gives us 110 gallons of water in case of emergency....earth quake...fire....I have never seen anything but crystal clear water come out of the tap.
Many times water is stored for long periods without going bad....you really need sunlight for alge to grow in a tank.:h
same here.
23' emergency kit, ready for anything.

I bet they do but I haul my own soft water from home.
I will be out there this weekend and can confirm it if you don't get a definite answer.

RE: Carson toyhauler

My first setup was a 2000 Carson Funrunner FB20 and a 2003 Toyota Tundra w/V8. They serviced us well. I put 4 quads in the Carson plus all the gear. I think you will be fine in pulling power and braking but use caution in high winds and passing & being passed big rigs. It sucks when the tail wags the dog!

RE: How fast do you tow?

In CA I try to stay around 60 mph but in AZ, NV, UT I travel 70-75-80 mph- depending on speed limit and conditions.
All about the tires, conditions, and keeping a safe distance.
Me too
Me three.
me four except the keeping it slow in CA
what no FLAMES! I'm shocked
I keep finding myself at 70+ so I try to set the cruse control to 60-65 to keep it down.

RE: converter ?

Hands down call Randy at bestconverter.comhe is a great guy, you will be happy you called him.
With the right converter you can plug in your trailer or run your generator and it will quickly charge your batteries without overcharging them.
With the wrong converter it will take hours and hours of running your generator to charge your batteries and if you leave it plugged in it will overcharge/kill your batteries.

RE: Has anyone riden the silverwood lake area?

It's a grate place to ride. I was just there this weekend. We did 18 mile loop, stopped to have lunch by the lake then did another 17 miles of other trails. We staged at the dam. I don't think you need a pass at the dam.

RE: Toy Hauler Gas Tanks

I use my trailer year round. It may sit for 2 months at the most.
Would you be concerned about the fuel in your car if it sat for 2 months?
I have never had a problem. It's not like it will be siting with 2 feet of snow on it for months at a time.

RE: What generator to buy?

If you don't need to run a roof AC I would get a Honda 2000i It will run for hours on very little fuel, is very quiet, lasts for years and years, and when you are done with it you can sell it for top dollar.
