Manning, Romo, and Favre

Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, and Brett Favre are all tragically killed in a plane crash.
God asks Peyton Manning first: "What do you believe?"
Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky, but I always tried to do right by my fans."
God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning, and offers him a seat to his left.
Then God turns to Tony Romo and says, "What do you believe?"
Tony says, "I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing fields."
God is greatly moved by Tony's sincere eloquence, and he offers him a seat to his right.
Finally, God turns to Brett Favre: "And you, Brett, what do you believe?"
Brett replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

RE: Rude Drivers

Have you ever driven in New Mexico? The first rule to understand is that stopping for a red light is optional. Second rule is you're a weakling if you use your turn signals.
Man, I have to strongly agree with this! I lived in ABQ for 5 years. That's where I learned to look in my rearview mirror to make sure it was safe to stop at an impending red light.

RE: next generation blackberry storm

The latest word on the major BB websites (CrackBerry) is Storm 2 will be an October release. Internal name is Odin, so googling that may help you dig up fresh info.
The main changes from Storm to Storm 2 are WiFi on Storm 2, the 4 bottom hardkeys are now integrated into the SurePress screen, flick scrolling, more App memory. And of course, a new operating system (5.0).
There's a great forum for Storm 2 as well as all BB info at www.crackberry.com

RE: Hot Dish without an Oven !

The OP's mac and cheese is a good quick meal we make from time to time. For a good variation, substitute a quality sliced smoked sausage for the ground beef.
We've also thrown in some small diced bell pepper and a can of cream of mushroom soup to change it up a bit.

RE: Panda Cloud Anti-virus. Any good?

On the topic of free AV, I've been using AVAST free Home Edition on my Win XP PC and Vista laptop for years. Light on memory, no conflicts, and fast scanning of downloads and email attachments. The virus updates and program updates are automatic so the thing really is 'touch free'.

It's so hot in Texas

The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The best parking spot is determined by shade, not distance.
Hot water comes out of BOTH taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron!
If the temperature drops below 95 its a cold snap.
You discover it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover you can get sunburned through your car window going to work.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and
end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
You realize asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
The cows are giving evaporated milk.
Ah, what a place to call home.

RE: No Swimming!

Sadly, that's what the area lakes here (Canyon Lake in particular) look like. Each summer the water levels drop a little further. There are a few signs in this area that seem out of place like that now.

RE: Fooling ReserveAmerica?

Because of exactly this type of behavior mentioned above, change is coming. At least to the State Parks in Oregon. Was reading about it in the paper a couple weeks ago.
Pretty soon, we are all going to have to pay in full at the time of the reservation. It is a start to fix this problem at least.
I hope the Texas SP system does the same. My friend and I were talking about this a few weeks ago when we were at one of the Parks. We've each seen a huge increase in the lack of available sites, only to find that if we call on Thursday or Friday of the intended visit weekend, we can get spots due to cancellations. The Texas SP only charges first night fees upon reserving, and refunds all but $5.00 if cancelled before 48 hours of arrival. I know it seems odd that folks would spend $5 to hold sites, but with the economy and folks wanting to get the RV out, but not go to far, it seems like that's what's been happening.
I would love to see Texas SP go to pay in full on reserving.

RE: HOw tall is my trailer?

Our Cardinal is very tall for a TT, and it's only 11' 3" to the top of the AC. Our old Alumascape was average height, profile much like yours, and it was 10' 2".
Although most TT's fall in the 10'-11' area, it's best to get a measurement of your own, just to keep from wondering on future trips.

RE: 50 amp cord size

A cheap fix (for me, anyway) is a $3.00 laundry basket from Walmart.
Coil the 50A cord in it and only uncoil what you need. Keeps a fairly round twist so it loads back into the basket easily.

RE: Mathis, Tx.

I was in the Mathis area a couple of months ago at Lake Corpus Christi State Park. I saw no signs or even new construction for the place. Perhaps it never came to fruition?
