RE: Question for Class A owners with slides

All of you folks who own coaches with slides, especially quad slides. When underway would you rather have slides or no slides...or does it not make any difference? Also, what are your reasons?
There are parkers and drivers.. We fall in the driver category This year we will log over 20,000 miles on the road so the usability and livability with slides in was a factor in our selection of floor plan.
Our floor plan was available in 2, 3, or 4 slide versions. We opted for the two slide version with the slides on one side of the coach the drivers side.
Our choice was a no compromise on the patio side so the awning was not compromised nor was our space under the awning compromised. This decision also allowed us to have bus styled basement doors for maximum access.
With the slides in we can cook, bathe and sleep and have access to all essential areas . We even can do our laundry.
The only compromise with the slide in is that should the lure of going to the bathroom strike me in the middle of the night with the slides in I will have to quietly crawl over my beloved snoring wife:)
Our current floor plan is perfect for us... But I would add a third slide in the bedroom to allow for extra room when parked.
In terms of the forth slide in the living area... I am not sure I would go that way since the number of times where the extra 18 inches would make a difference is small.

RE: Warning, be wary of the flu shot.

I have received a number of notifies either questioning why this thread was in class A or why I had not moved it. There was also some sentiment that the thread was misleading.
The thread could well have run in another forum but that does not make it inappropriate for it to run in the class A forum. By definition the forum if for class A travelers, granted most of the topics in class a are specific to issues associated with class A.. But we also have a variety of topics about Rving and traveling with a class A.
Many if not most of our members do not visit other forums. When member of our class A forum has a serious health issue most of us are interested and want to know about progress and to offere up support in the form well wishes and prayers.
These forum are intended to be an extension of the RVing experience. I do not feel in inappropriate when a class A member choices to post a significant personal experience...So from time to time you will see them posted here.
If any see a thread they deem inappropriate I do appreciate hearing about it in the form of a notify or PM... If , as in this case, I do not see it the same way then the best suggestion is to just block the thread that way it will just disappear. I use that feature on forums I do not moderate for those threads I have no interest in.
There was also some sentiment expressed that the information would be of value in a different forum, while that may well be true the class A forum is the most widely read forum by a significant margin. And for the most part the type of RV that a member owns or aspires to is the home forum for most members... Those with special interests will visit the other forums and their needs or interests dictate.
In terms of the thread being misleading... I would disagree... It appeared to me that Mr. Mark was chronicling his experience which he reported was one in a million. Each of us reading the thread will take away their own meaning.. In my case my focus was and is Mr. Marks condition and prognosis.
Mr. Mark I am glad you are recovering and the prognosis is for a full recovery. I am interested to hear of your progress. Your in my prayers for a full and speedy recovery.

RE: Camping a 43' RV in National Parks

Zion, Watchman has pull through and back ins that will accommodate 45 footers. Some of the pull throughs are not real handy to get on or out of but we do it every year with our 40 footer. Tail swing not the issue but wheel base is. The pull throughs are turns outs with a radius that requires a long wheel base to make a really precise turn in, or start in back up then complete the turn. No big deal the reward is a large fairly private spot right on the virgin river... and if your a senior the cost is either $10 or $15 dollars per night the higher price is for a 50amp site on the river. No water or sewer hook up but we usually only stay 4 or 5 days.
Our wheel base is 296 and if we have a degree or two more cramp angle like newer coaches have it would take some of the challenge away.

RE: Inaccurate oil gauge?

Not real sure about Frieghtliner but the oil gauge on our spartan never budges off of 55 PSI.. The reason is that all the indicator means is that there is oil pressure.
Generally the oil pressure sender is basically translating pressure into resistance and the gauge is an indicator of current flow based on the resistance...
So if your gauge indicator is fluctuating and I would first check the electrical connections on the sender and the gauge. I have had both go bad on other vehicles.
If I had any reason to believe there was an oil pressure issue and not just a errant indication I would have it checked out by a qualified mechanic.
