battery voltage is 13.0 volts after using Batteryminder

I bought a Batteryminder a couple months back and have been using it while the TT is in storage. Here is the story, we just got back from a trip where we used the dual 6 volts GC batts a little. I charged the batts using the generator before we left for a couple of hours , 5 hours driving charge and plugged in overnight (@ 15 hours @ 13.6 volts) before it went back in storage. I could tell from the amps going into the batteries from my VENA meter that they had full charged. Well... I didn't plug in the Batteryminder this time because I knew I would be going to the storage unit today to clean the TT up. When I got there today the batteries had been disconnected for 48 hours, so I expected a good resting voltage reading. To my surprise the resting voltage was 13.0 volts. The highest I had ever seen was 12.9 when the batteries were new and before using the Batteryminder 12.8. Does this 13.0 volts really mean the Batteryminder is working its magic? :h

RE: Spare Tire Security & Extra Spare?

Bike lock chain/cable thru the rim and around the bumper will take care of locking it, if you feel the need.

RE: Throttle body spacers...Performance mod or myth?

Like everyone else out there, I'm looking to eek out the most MPG on my TV. I have heard about throttle body spacers and figured I'd go here first to see if anyone has any experience with them?
IF they worked, why wouldn't the automaker put them on the engine?

RE: Tundra or Titan or Dodge?

Beware of the top rail height of F150's. It looks to me like Ford intentionally makes the sides so tall that pulling a 5th wheel and getting at least 6 inches of clearance between the top of the side rails and the bottom of the 5th wheel would be impossible. I've seen lots of older F150's pulling small lighter 5th wheels but I never recall seeing a newer F150 pulling one. They must do this to keep people from installing 5th wheel hitches in this model. This would ruin the F250 sales. My pick here for you would be a Dodge 2500 with the Hemi. I know people with this truck and it does a great job!!
Good point! There is a piture I keep seeing on the back of Trailer life with what looks to be a F150 pulling a KZ Durango light Fiver, It does looks not to have enough clearance with the sides.

RE: battery water boil out

I know for a fact that the WFCO works just fine with no battery, they use to have that statement in one of their older manuals.

RE: They want $5K - FINAL REPORT

That repair could have been done without replacing some of those parts....
HUH???? Your name suggests you were/are an engineer of some sort.
Enlighten me on which parts could have been done without????
Personally I may have done more based on the mileage(which I dont know or remember) and the simple fact that the differential is already disassembled.

RE: WFCO 8955 Upgrade Advice

Hi Learjet, as described in the above thread, my 8955 max's out, only outputing 13.5V - well below a bluk charge rate to efficently recharge my batteries. So I'm planning on installing at Truecharge 40+ and I don't want two charges trying to recharge my batteries (just the TrueCharge), when I plug in my generator.
Thanks for you response.
Chris
Two charges running at the same time will not hurt anything, the higher voltage will win out. You might try increasing the wire size from the WFCO to the batteries, since that helps in making it go into bulk mode. This would be a good idea even with the new charger, so you might as well do that first. Also, bigger batteries and bigger wire will make it go into bulk. I know this from experience and reading lots of threads about this.

RE: Lafayette, La. RV park

DW & I are going to be making a trip to Lafayette, La. We have family there (in Scott) & we're looking to be there in a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations for an RV park in that area that;s close to Scott & is not one of those 'parking lot' RV parks?? The only parks we found on the web are Frog City and Pouce's. Frog City looks like it might be a parking lot type, but not sure.
Appreciate any help
KOA Lafayette/Scott would be the best close choice. Down the road about 15 miles on I10 is Cajun Palms RV resort in Henderson new and upper end type resort, but busy on the weekends.

RE: Battery Voltage Monitor

I called Vena and they are no longer making rv meters due to the slow down. You can have this meter direct from them, discontinued for $180 w/o any support.
I think that is a great price for all it does, and make sure to get the AC amp optional sense coil.
