RE: Diesel Fuel

You can use up to B-20. I use Standyne with every fill...but you will have to make that judgement on your own. Lots of opinions on that....BUT B-20 is listed in the manual as the max biofuel blend. D2 is #2 diesel, and you are fine. Regardless, I am not aware of any fuel sold in the US that will not run in our engine. Some other diesel engines...older or other makes, will not run B20...but you can.

RE: exterior refrigerator fan

Use these thermistor fans...built in thermistor so fan is temperature controlled. Best way to wire is direct to battery 12 volt. htsSilenX Effizio Thermistor EFX-12-15T 120mm Case Fan http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835226045&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Case+Fans-_-N82E16835226045&gclid=CJi6z-_Q_LYCFQNlMgod8H8AqQ

RE: Why truckers don't like RVers

the same idots do the same thing at the car lanes as well. I was at one stop and ALL the diesel lanes were blocked by trailered vehicles with no occupants, The attendents finally went inside and over the PA told the owners of vehicles in the diesel lanes to move the trucks. Happens to me all the time at the RV islands at Flying J.....rude people. Maybe some will read this....but I doubt it!

RE: Merging onto an Interstate

Actually, the key word is yield. That's the law in most states...and most drivers fail to yield when they enter the highway.

RE: Dish service in northern states

No problem getting the 119 and 110 for my dish 500 setup....from northern Maine to Key West. I strongly suggest investing in a good tripod. I suffered for years with the cheap ones that come with most setups....took forever to get level. Just bought a Wineguard TR-3535 and I have to say my setup time is now down to about 5 minutes.

RE: A good small high quality 5th wheel for full timing

As you may know, Carriage closed their doors last year...but their employees went to Lifestyle rv and Lifestyle now makes what amounts to the entire Carriage lineup...with improvements. http://www.lifestylelrv.com/ Comments on their new line have been great, and I would surely add them to the top of your list. They make our Carriage model...32FWS and we have found this to be a great floorplan and within the specs for your truck. This floorplan allows you to have a washer dryer in a rig 32' 11". Best of luck!

RE: 2004 Zeppelin Z301 - good or bad?

I would walk away from the Zeppelin unless you are very confident in your ability to detect a troubled trailer. Had one that had all kinds of issues, and Keystone finally traded me out of it...took me a year of work to get rid of it. The forum for Zeps was very active then and the horror stories would astound you. There is a reason why they discontinued them so quickly and replaced with the passport. Having said that, there probably were some winners. They were known for leaking at the slides and for cable slide issues. The factory couldn't even fix my leaking slide. (Yes...they paid to bring it back and forth to NH) Also known for sagging floors due to a lack of undercarriage bracing. I would look it over VERY closely. Irish

RE: Did you install your own fifth wheel hitch?

Installed my last 2 B&W Companion hitches. Only have to drill one hole in the bed...but its a big one. Measure twice and cut once as the saying goes. Other posters are right. Easy enough to do and you will know it is done right. Best of luck.

RE: Charleston SC to Wells Me and back

Since you did not and don't show what your RV is in your profile your routes could be restricted. Assuming you have a Motorhome you could take 17 to Norfolk,VA to Chesapeeke Bay Bridge and tunnel to DelMarva then north to Lowes Maryland and pick up the ferry to Cape May,NJ then Garden State Parkway to route 17 Mawah exit north to NYS Thruway and north to the Berkshire Spur I-90 east to Mass Pike to pick up I-95 near the Mass-New Hampshire Border, then north to Maine. You need to call for resevations for the Ferry boat ride which is about 80 minutes from port to port. Garden State has wide lanes on right, and service centers along the way. Gas in NJ is full service only, (you don't pump, they do)and it's cheap compared to NY prices so fill up on 17 before leaving NJ. That's the way I travel, and find it nice, less traffic and counrtyside ride on most roads. You don't get into hills until the NYS Thruway and Mass Turnpike, and they are not bad. I would second the Lewes ferry route for a change of pace... caution on the southern section of the Garden state due to low clearances...depends on your setup. If you go 95, best day is Sunday and even then I would go through White plains to the Tappen Zee. If you really want a change of pace, go up through the outer banks and use those ferries as well. Chesapeake bay tunnel only requires that propane be shut off. Baltimore requires a routing using the Phillips Sousa bridge and 95 through Boston depends on how you interperet the signs. I think they apply only to commercial vehicles and have gone that route...so far so good. Irish

RE: Warranty and DPF deletes

Thoughts and ideas. 1. You are nuts if you mess with your truck. 2. Don't listen to boneheads on truck websites.

RE: ULSD without biofuel blending?

This whole diesel fuel deal is a pita. Glad I can at least run B20 if I have to, but I sure feel for those that can't. Can't imagine how our gov't can allow sales of non B-20 compliant vehicles when they are pushing the crap.

ULSD without biofuel blending?

I would prefer not to use the Biofuel blends that I seem to be finding everywhere (B-20 at Fying J etc), but have been unable to find any way of finding those dealers without pulling up to the pump. I drive the east coast a lot and am wondering if anyone else has similar concerns and if you have found a solution? This must be an issue for drivers of older diesel trucks. My 2011 Chev Dmax is capable of running on up to B20 fuel, but I have concerns on impurities and the biofuels increased tendency to attract/hold water. I notice that the makers of Stanadyne seem to indicate that their products will work only with the ulsd parts of the blends... Does anyone else share this concern and have a solution to find non blended diesel fuels?

RE: what is best winter route to Pensacola from NH

First year round campground is Aces High in East Lyme, CT. That would make your first day a short one but set you up well to get through NY/Baltimore and Washington in one day. I would suggest going through NY etc on a Sunday if possible. Rte 95 is you best choice that time of year. Ditto on Cherry Hill(although I like Washington/Fredericksburg KOA better)if you feel like doing that whole thing as day one. I would also avoid GW bridge and use Tappan Zee. Also remember no propane in Baltimore tunnels...use the Francis Scott Key bridge. Irish

RE: Salisbury Beach State reservation campground MA

Look into staying next door at Hampton beach State Park in New Hampshire. Full hookups and right on the beach. There are only 28 full hook up sites so you need reservations during the season{Memorial Day- Labor Day}.Prior to and after these dates its drive up and get whats available. We go there many times during the season and we love it there.Sites are big and you have a fire pit and like I said full hook ups!.To reserve go on reserveamerica.com.I was looking yesterday and there are sites still available for Columbus Day weekend.Memorial Day thru Labor Day is already sold out.You can get on a wait list and they will email you if a spot opens. Good Luck and enjoy our wonderful beaches! ditto
