RE: Accumulator and water pressure

The Shurflo Revolution Pump is NOT a variable speed pump.
It runs at speed on demand and discharge pressure is controlled via an internal bypass valve......bypass starts opening at 35 psi and is fully open at 55 psi.
This reduces pump on/off cycling and helps maintain a more constant flow.
The Extreme Series Pumps are variable speed and use a circuit board and microprocessor.

RE: Toilet clogging up

I know of at least one instance where the pipe down into the tank wasn't cut short enough; as liquid built up in the tank, solids could not free-fall into the tank. You should be able to see this condition if your connection is straight down.
This is what I suspect is your problem......
The dump line from toilet to tank is too long and sticks down inside tank very close to bottom of tank. Solids and TP are piling up regardless of amount of water used.
To correct, the dump line will need to be shorted.
Remember , waste tanks are not very deep...they are wide, long but shallow.
And yes RV toilets will 'burp'.
When they get close to being full the liquid can block the vent line. When you flush toilet air has to escape the tank in order for liquids/stuff to enter as it is a gravity operated toilet.
Hence the toilet dump line becomes the vent source and produces a 'burp' sound as you flush.
This should only occur when tank is nearly full. Happens at other levels then vent line is obstructed OR too long.

I would have gladly taken her sign and told her 'no problem'.
She would have left happy, content and full of herself.
Upon departure I would have then dropped her sign right in the dirt at her site.
Arguing with a fool is like standing on your own foot........it's uncomfortable, ties you to one spot and accomplishes absolutely nothing.

RE: Water heater screen(s)

Whatever you use.......just make sure that those screens are kept clean.
A lot of problems with furnaces/fridges/water heaters are due to improper air flow.

RE: atwood 10 gallon water heater

RV water heaters have 'air pockets' for expansion..water expands when heated and does not compress. Air does.
RV water heater 'normal' t-stats open at 130/140*F (pre-set fixed temp)
RV water heater 'High/ECO' t-stats open at 170/180*F (pre-set fixed temp)
RV water heater 'Press/Temp Relief Valves' open at 210*F/150 psi
RV water heater PRVs temp probe are submerged in the water below the air pocket
Dripping from PRV's is when heating water is typically due to loss of 'air pocket'.
Turn off water supply
Open hot side on faucet to relieve pressure
Open PRV via lever until water stops running out...then let it snap closed
Turn on water supply
Close faucet.

RE: fridge

It was a dometic....I think a rat build a nest in the flu...all camper fridges run more efficient on gas...it is the heat that causes the ammonia to flow and absorb heat.
So it wasn't running the fridge on gas while traveling that was the issue as hinted in 1st post.......
It was 'stuff' in the flue.

RE: Fifth wheel jack points

It's a CYA to prevent unaware individuals from jacking on an unsupported part of the axle. If they didn't say that, you just know someone would try to jack up their 5er by putting a jack in the middle of the axle. And then complain because "Nobody said I couldn't jack there."
I jack my toyhauler from under the U-bolts for the axle mount nearest the wheel. I honestly can't imagine how much material you'd have to put under the jack, and how high you'd have to jack the unit by lifting under the frame. YJ(acking)MV. :)
X2.......'lawyerlese'
To jack my 5'vr via frame would require 14" cribbing blocks at each jacking point just to get bottle jack to frame.
Like I'm really going to do that for changing a tire or inspecting/working on brakes/bearings. Under the spring perch between the u-bolts has worked for me.

RE: Water problem? Help

AS suggested.....two ways for fresh water tank to get filled when connected to 'city water'
IF you have a water panel where hose connects than check the valving...fill tank valve open.
Otherwise the on-board pump internal check valve is letting water run thru pump back into tank
The internal check valve can get build up on it from hard water or debris from tank holding it open.
Running the pump can clean out the debris (and lower the fresh water tank).
Cleaning the check valve is easy....just remove pump head and clean diaphragms
OR replace with new.

RE: Electric stabilizers have no power

Electric stabilizers are usually feed directly from battery.
Check for power wires that bypass the battery disconnect switch....(front landing gear, slides, jacks etc.)
These lines have their own in-line fuses or dc circuit breakers (small rectangle box with two studs/can be auto reset or manual reset---small button on side).
These fuses/cb's can be under a cover or just mounted on wall typically via front compartment area.

RE: I-5 Bridge Collapse at Mount Vernon, WA

Twice.....today!!!
I don't know if where you are has a lottery but today sounds like the best day for you to buy a ticket.
OUR (USA) roads & infrastructure are in dire need of major up-fitting, rebuilding and quite frankly replacing.
Some bridge work has been done but dang there are a lot to do.
This collapse is a bit ominous considering this one passed muster 5 yrs. ago
The state Department of Transportation had described the bridge as "structurally sound and safe" as recently as 2008.

RE: musky smell from air conditioner

The drip pan under the evap cooler probably has plugged drain holes and old water has allowed mold/mildew to develop. Probably on the evap cooler also
You can try spraying some mold/mildew cleaner across the face of evap cooler by removing the air filter........look up inside and you will see the leading face of cooler.
The best way is to go up on roof, remove shroud then remove sheet metal cover on forward end of A/C, under which will be the evap cooler and drain pan.

RE: Suburban electric Heater won't work

Checked CB and 'appears' good......
Should use a voltmeter.
Test that you have 110V AC power thru CB to ON/OFF switch.
Test that you have 110V AC power from switch to the electric element
Check that the 110V High temp t-stat is reset (Push to reset...under rubber cover)

RE: How to wire a breakaway switch, which wire is which?

Doesn't matter which wire(s).......
The break away switch is just a switch in the positive power line to brakes.
12V DC power from trailer battery goes to switch and then to trailer brakes when switch is activated by pulling the pin.
One wire to blue wire on switch the other wire to the other blue wire on switch.

RE: Does the fridge cycle?

Your refrigerator in a slide out?
What you heard running and then shut off was the circulating fan(s) located in the outside fridge compartment.
They are thermostatically controlled and turn ON/OFF to move air flow across the fridge cooling coils for proper ventilation.

RE: Accumulator and water pressure

Check whether or NOT that your pump style/design can be used with an accumulator tank!! Accumulator tanks are not recommended for use with some newer pumps.
Go to MFG. website and verify.
55 psi is not going to be a problem with your rig plumbing lines/fittings....
(unless you have really junk plumbing)

RE: DEF, even dumber and blind too.

Having the DEF fill under the hood just helps keep you from putting diesel in it.
Putting DEF in diesel fill is easily done.........so is gasoline.
I do wish that there was a color standard for fill nozzles
Black for gas
Green for diesel
Yellow for DEF
Red for off-road diesel
Pink for E fuel
Any color......just a standard that ALL stations had to follow.
We used 35% Urea in boilers for Nox control
That stuff is nasty.....very corrosive
But will green your lawn up dang near over night.
