RE: Florida Thunderstorm Warnings - awning in or out ?

It takes less time and effort to roll it up than replace it!

Paying it forward

Today as we were leaving a CG near Atlantic City, NJ., there was a 43ft Newmar stuck in the sand/mud. Just sat there spinning one rear wheel.
My BIL and I went to see if we could help. After trying to raise it on its jacks and jambing firewood under the wheels, it still would not move.
I unhooked our 5er and put a chain from his rear hitch to mine (he didn't think I could do it) 4 wheel lo, my F450 pulled that 40K lb MH out throwing rooster tails from all 4 corners!
So, proud of my truck we headed back home feeling good that we were able to help.
Its nice that most of us are always there to help one another. Makes me proud to be an RV'er!!

RE: water damage repair question?

You can also run one or more dehumidifiers inside to help dry it up. If it can't breath, it can't shed the moisture.

RE: Truck body repair advice...

After 35 + years in the auto body business, the platic panels on that truck are not so easy to repair. It can be done but, with specific materials and always show signs of product failure after a short time. These plastic panals flex, swell and shrink with the weather and road conditions, the repair materials do not react the same as the panel. The best way to repair it is to replace the fender. If you have collision, use it. That is what you pay for and it will keep your truck in top shape. Not looking like some half a.. repair that you will be sorry you paid for.

RE: Fifth wheel with 2 FULL baths?

Cardinal also makes units with 1 ans 1/2 bath. Ours works well for us. They now have a different model with the same feature

RE: Caution when dealing with adventureRV.net

This is why I do not deal with on line parts. No wharehouse, no inventory, no one to help. Just someone to take your money. I would rather pay more for an item than deal with these places that take business from brick and motor stores. If I have an issue, I can deal with them and do the phone tag. This hurts YOUR dealership

RE: Heater - Starting to get cold and doesn' work

It would be the control box in the ceiling part of the AC unit. No darts here, common repair.

RE: atwood heater problems

Skip,
The universal board can be used on either and you can eliminate the 20 second delay to be used in a waterheater.
Rich
As far as the furnace goes, check to make sure it is operating with the 20 second delay and not instant ignite.

RE: atwood heater problems

Did he use a Dino board?
If so, it may be one of their universal boards that has a resistor that works like a 20 second delay. You would need to clip that resistor off the board. That makes it an instant ignition. If he still has instructions, it will tell him which one it is. Or contact Dinosaur and they will tell you.

RE: Heater - Starting to get cold and doesn' work

What kind of thermostat and a/c unit is it? On Dometic AC units, there is a control box behind the ceiling panel that splits the signal from the thermostat between the AC and furnace. If the box fails the furnace will not run, click only.
One way to check is to pull the thermostat off the wall and take the 2 blue wires and touch them together. If the furnace and its board are good, the furnace will run. It just won't turn off till you disconect the wires.

RE: fifth wheel length - practicality

We have a 40ft 5er. Would not go smaller no matter what.
The only thing we look for is that the CG has sites that fit us. If not, we look elsewhere. Most of our stops are planned. I try not to make a habbit of stopping at Wallmarts ect. for safty reasons. If I were in a MH and there were to be a problem, I could get to the driver seat and drive away. Not so much in a 5th or TT. Personal pref.
I like the room our 5er gives us. It tows great. It all comes down to personal pref. Good luck with your choice.

RE: ford 450

I have an 05 F450, 6.0. 92K miles. I bought it with 10K on it. Only issues have been, fuel injectors and hi volume oil pump for fuel injection system. I love the truck. It tows my 40ft 5er with no problem. I will own this one for a while longer and see what the new 6.7 is like.

RE: Dealer Bashing

I am also in the RV service industry. Most times the dealer deserves the bashing they get. If they paid attention to what was happening in their showrooms and shops instead of listening to bean counters, there would be less of it.

RE: Question about A/C wiring on a 1995 Fleetwood Southwind

Sounds like a "shed device" This will only allow 1 unit at a time to start. There may be a 3 position switch, A/ Both/ B units.
Move the switch to either side and see if it will start either unit.
I just had a simular problem and removed the voltage sensing lead and plugged it back in. This reset the system and now works well. The sensing lead should be 2 small white wires on a single plug.
