RE: Sad sight - same model fire

....What starts a refrigerator fire ....
The coolant leaks out, and when it comes in contact with the burner flame, FOON!

RE: Onan 4kw starts but dies

many many threads on this....
Oil pressure switch, oil level, voltage regulator, could be lots of things. The starter switch bypasses all the safeties that are built into the genset. If one of them is acting up, or there is a legitimate fault (low oil for instance) then the genset will not remain running, in an effort to not damage the genset.

RE: State police portable scales

They do in Kalifornia - especially on the roads leading to Glamis in Southern Kalifornia. Overweight without the right license (Non-Commerical Class-A IIRC...) you get a ticket, and park the rig until someone with the right license comes to drive it away.

RE: Got bored, did this mod.

Nice work!
The ONLY improvement I could see is a handle to match the others? But that might be kinda tough since it's probably not a standard hardware item....

RE: tires "cupping"

From a search on "tires cupping" on Google:
"A "cupped" wear pattern on the tires can be caused by a wheel and tire that are out of balance or by weak shock absorbers or struts. This type of wear occurs because the wheel bounces up and down as it rolls down the highway. The cure here is to have the wheel balanced or replace the worn shocks or struts."

RE: Water under trailer?

Obviously, you're gonna have to remove the plastic to expose the leak.
That said, is your fresh water pump running with all the faucets shut? Does it only leak when the tub/shower is used? Or only when certain sinks are used?
Figure on replacing the plastic sheeting, and the fiberglass insulation that's soaked. Depending on the length of time the leak has been going on, you may have wood damage also.
Get on it... .it's only gonna get worse.

RE: Best Route to Sedona

I would use I5 to Hwy 58....to Bakersfield and through to Barstow. Pickup I40 east at Barstow and then to Flagstaff and I17 south a little way......and your almost there.:)
I'd concur. Take I-17 south of Sedona, and then take 179 back to the north. The construction should be done by next year.
Where are you staying? We did the Rancho Sedona RV Park thing. Good location, quiet, nice park. They're kinda anal about their dog rules, but it's all common courtesy - they just enforce it. Don't leave trash outside overnight - the racoons and the skunks will find it and love you for it!

RE: ?WW coiled water hose pin holes?

.....I wouldn't want to try it on a super muddy toy though...
We actually used it on the quads last Thanksgiving in Ocotillo Wells. Worked "pretty" well.... it loosened the big chunks of mud at least. But you're right - it's not a 5000psi pressure washer.

RE: Potluck meals

Grape jelly , chilly sauce , meat balls and a crock pot , people complained because they did not get any. I made it in the biggest crock pot there is and nothing was left.
Or a Raspberry/Chipotle sauce (on the BBQ sauce aisle in the market) on the meatballs is tasty.

And here in Southern Calif, we're just gearing up for desert season.... greasing wheel bearings, filling propane tanks, loading firewood. Comfy camping until about Mother's Day.

RE: Huevos Rancheros

My mom's version (that has now become mine :R ) starts out with sausage (either link or Italian) cooked to done. Leave the sausage in the pan, and add a can of chili beans. Break a few eggs on top of the beans and add grated cheese to your taste. Cover, turn the heat down to medium-low, and poach the eggs.
Sourdough bread or toast goes well with it. And a bloody mary!

RE: WW FK1900 - Can't find out what one of the switches does...

How do i fix it? Is it soldered back there? I wonder how they would wire them up.
Should be just eye/spade terminals.... only 12volts.

RE: Cost of New Class B's-Why do you want them?

Size?
Some might not feel comfortable driving an "A" (a lot shouldn't be anyway, from my observations... :R)
Daily Driver to and from work?
If there wasn't a market for them, they wouldn't sell them.

RE: oil filter wont budge

Strap wrench
Screwdriver punched thru side-to-side
or my favorite -
use a small chisel and a hammer, and LIGHTLY tap the crimped edge of the filter with the chisel, at an angle almost like you're trying to shave a layer off the crimped edge, tap in the direction to unscrew the filter.
Then, NEVER AGAIN let anyone else install an oil filter on your truck but you.
