RE: RV Net Forums & Other Forums

TC, Fifth Wheel and Cooking forums for me. I've used the technical forums a couple times when I've had a tow vehicle problem. For more specificity, I go to my TC brand specific owners website.

RE: Tie Downs

Can someone explain how they adjust? The camper is never in exactly the same spot so I've always failed to see how they don't require adjustment like a turnbuckle.

RE: Another airfoil option

I wonder if it would be anymore effective mounted to the camper nose in lieu of the truck?

RE: Tighten up your Hitch Extension < $5

sleepy, it looks like you've slightly bent the bracket. What was your technique for that?

RE: Device for Alignment and Centering of TC when loading

Very nice with A LOT of detail. A sure sign you've spent too much time in "recovery" Sleepy. LOL!

RE: Soy Sauce Substitute ???

The last diet that the wife and I were on called for us to replace our use of soy sauce with tumari sauce. It is found in the same section of the market as the soy sauce. I haven't read the bottle but it was our recommended "substitute."

RE: Camper Jack Backing Plates for Bigfoot

If it were me, I'd probably do a couple of things. 1) Remove the brackets completely. Over drill the loose/stipped out holes large enough to glue in some dowels. Start new pilot hole for a tight as new grip. 2) Drill a couple extra holes in the metal brackets where space allows and add a couple extra lags into fresh framing extra peace of mind.

RE: Camper Jack Backing Plates for Bigfoot

A backing plate would imply that there was a nut somewhere. I was always thinking that they were lag bolted on into the framing. Are they heald on with real bolts or lag screws?

RE: Am I losing my seat?

In my Dodge, the back seats fold up and a flat deck folds out. It is great for hauling large items that might be too fragile for the truck bed. It also makes a nice platform for a dog bed. This is a great feature without losing the seats when I want them. We don't take back seat passengers very often. You might consider only decking out the 60% seat so you could still take a rider if you wanted to.

RE: Overall Rig Length

My longbed truck without the camper on it doesn't fit in my driveway. If I have my front hitch on, I'm halfway across the sidewalk when almost touching the garage door. Houses on small lots with minimum set backs!

RE: need answer to common frig question

My Norcold just has one temp control on the door panel (1-9). Last year the freezer section was working correctly but the frig was on the warm side. I'm hoping that it is something as easy as moving the thermistor up. My wife usually wipes the entire frig out after trips and it is quite possible that she could have bumped it out of place.

You go first, what's your driveway length?

need answer to common frig question

Can someone remind me what the proper location of the sensor on the fins is? Was it very top = colder?

RE: Swing bracket install help

A saw horse or some cmu blocks and a 4 x 4 is plenty support to get the job done.

RE: DIY Spring Extender - Rev 1 - Half-a-Puck, PICS

My first attempt at a DIY spacer was hard plastic but made a lot of noise. I went back to rubber like the OEM and have been much happier.

RE: What Are The Upsides & Downsides To Driving A DRW Truck?

The fact that anyone has bothered to argue on this thread pretty much proves that everyone with a dually views it differently or has their own opinion. OP, guess you'll just have to find out for yourself.

RE: What Are The Upsides & Downsides To Driving A DRW Truck?

As a camper / hauler of my toys, there isn't a downside. As a daily driver, the weight of the truck makes for stressful driving. Starting and stopping 8,000 lbs of truck in a daily commute situation is unbearable for me. Unlike many, I don't find parking it difficult at all. I'm willing to walk a little to park in the boonies.

RE: 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel & Eagle Cap 1160

We have an Eagle Cap owners forum where I'm sure you'll find someone with you desired set up to give you personal experience. I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link but it can easily be found in a google search.
