RE: Best cell service: western us road trip

I use Verizon because of thier coverage and now I also use a 3 watt booster with an antenna on top of camper for even better reception in those canyons.

RE: Air bags and compressor

Have had the Firestone airbags for six years under the F450 I have. Mounted the compressor and tank on a small platform about mid way on frame. Stays clean and works great when I need it. Also placed outlet under hood to the right where I can attach a air hose that will reach any tire if needed and to air up water toys. Used it almost every day while I was volunteering after Katrina and also use when on other missions. Like inflating wheel barrel tires.

RE: Lance Pod

Where are you set up with that awning out and you and your bride in those lounge chairs?
I might take you up on the trout fishing but I will let you keep the pod.

RE: Best truck camper trips... short story(s)

Went to Bay St Louis,Ms for one week after Katrina and stayed almost four months living in my TC which I took off of truck and used the truck for all sorts of jobs. The Mayor got me electricity, water hookups at a little league ball field. He convinced the ports potty folks to come by once a week and clean out my tanks which they did even if I was no where around. By the way, if one of those porta potty trucks comes by to hook up to your waste outlet and opens the valve, do not be caught sitting on the john because the suction one of those things has can do harm to you or totally clean every thing out of you. WOW

RE: F450 2008 DIESEL OWNERS need your mpg

Reading about the MPG that those with newer F450 are getting is making me feel better about my 2003 F450 6.0L, 4.30,4X4, with 65000 miles. I am getting around 12.5 with camper and sometimes as high as 13.5. On a trip to Searcy,Ar to pick up a new boat without camper, we averaged 17.5 MPG for round trip. Not all that good but okay for such a big truck.

Help cleaning tile and grout

I am constantly cleaning the tile and grout so as to keep it looking new. After all of these years i am beginning to look for an easier way to do it. Better brush especially corners and what is the best cleaning solution you use to make it easier.
It is the shower part that gives me the most trouble now
Thanks
It is beginning to cut into my fishing time

RE: TCNTN's western fishing trip 2009

The special lure I use for trout fishing is from this company. They also have a crappie lure similar to the trout magnet which is absolutely awesome. Have been using it to catch stripe bass and some white bass.
I take the trout magnets and will use them with my grandchildren and catch brim and others.
Here is where I get them

RE: TCNTN's western fishing trip 2009

Thanks to Sleepy for putting the pictures on board.
It is hard to believe that we have been married almost 50 years and still look oh so good.
35 days of fishing in Wy,Co and NM plus some site seeing. Had a great time fishing and watching my wife catch those cutthroats.

RE: Road dust

I see you got dust but the important question we all want to know though is this, did you catch as many trout as tcintn did while he was out there for 35 days? 133 in two days of fishing on the San Juan in New Mexico and plus that was in the non quality waters. Caught some of the nicest cutthroats up on the Taylor River in Colarado. Thanks for all of your advice.
I have gotten a lot of dust out plus plan old mud from driving on a dirt road in a blinding rainstorm for hours while searching out a spot over on the S Platte.

RE: PMR?

Went to the specialist for PMR and learned that I have PMR. Have been put on prednisone. I just hope I can deal with side effects such as wanting to eat constantly and the one the doc said, moon face.He also said that by the end of the second day of being on the meds, I should be feeling much better and free of the pain.It has been so long dealing with the pain.We discussed many things which could have brought this on. I am still leaning toward the black mold which I inhaled while in Bay St Louis,Ms after Katrina. I went for a week and stayed almost four months and we breathed black mold every day because you could not wear a mask because if you sweat it would get on mask and then you could not breathe.
So many health issues since Katrina.
But right now I am looking forward to pain free days and more fishing trips.

RE: Best Road Side Picnic Table

Was riding my bicycle around Washington and BC when I came to the dam and met man who worked there and invited me to ride my bike with him through the dam. Rode a total of 2 1/2 miles. Plus got to go inside one of the tubes that were being repaired. Very interesting adventure to say the least.

RE: Social Security at 62?

Go ahead and retire at 62. If at a later date you would like to change your mind, lets say at age 70, you can repay just what you have received,no interest, and reapply at say age 70 and get a much larger SS check based on age 70.

Punctuation is very Powerful

English professor wrote the words:
"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."
Punctuation is powerful
