RE: lifting 5th wheel

I just had tires put on, the tire dealer lifted each axle at the shackle. I just read the manual which states do not lift by the axle, place a jack on the frame rail in front of the front tire, behind the rear wheel on the frame if doing the rear wheel.

RE: What size bottle jack

We carry a 6 ton. Our trailer weighed around 11,000 fully loaded. As others said, you aren't lifting the entire trailer as once.

Anybody know if this is a park to take bikes to? I hear it's quite the scenic hiking area. Just wondering if we should pack the bikes or not. We usually take them but would leave them if the park is not conducive to them. Thanks in advance...

RE: Purchased New Goodyear G614RST Tires

My new GoodYears say, "MADE IN CHINA" on the sidewall... I am ticked!!!
I don't know how ticked I am but mine say the same. As long as they work, isn't damn near everything made there?

Thanks for the heads up Poptup, although I think I'll keep that one from the wife :E We are not travelling with the hound, only with thing one (14yrs.) and thing two (12yrs.) they are going to love it... Seems like a lot of activities in the area to do.

We are planning a stopover there (actually for a few days based on what we've heard) and was wondering if anyone has site suggestions. I was also wondering if anyone has links to pictures taken in that campground / area. Thanks in advance...

RE: Survivorman, or man vs. wild

I wish Bear could pronounce the word glacier as the two syllable word it is. Not Gla - ci - er.

RE: Annoying commercials

Anything from a drug company saying "ask your doctor about..." Don't you think if you have an ailment that the product will fix your doctor will know about it? This whole thing is getting a little over the top...

RE: Big Trip YELLOW STONE TETON hlep

Keep this in mind as well (depending on what your plans are), when we went we stayed in West Yellowstone. We would leave the trailer in the morning and not return until dark. Take a cooler with the portable grill for dinner. The campground was nothing more than a place to sleep. If your main objective is to see wildlife, this needs to be your plan. You see the most of animals at dusk and dawn. There were days that we put over 100 miles on the truck from Grizzly RV, I think Flagg would be even more. Next time we will stay in the park to reduce milage. Without looking I think it was Madison that will be our basecamp. Have a good trip, you will not be disappointed...

RE: King's Island area campgrounds

Of the state parks listed Cowan is the best of the bunch, skip Winton Woods unless you like that "inner city feel" of a campgound. I have a friend that stays at that Cedarbrook quite frequently, never been myself but it must be bad.

RE: tripod stabilizer

I think you need a long shanked lock and just run it through the holes and close it.

RE: It Just Dawned on Me .............

What brand? GMC/Chev is the tallest at the tailgate.
I was wondering about that as well, seems they "grew" a bit lately. Seems like the truck box itself is taller? As others have said, it still shouldn't be a problem since you are shopping for the trailer at this point, now you know what you have to work with. When you find one, make the dealer set it up correctly for you. Trailers are adjustable for height. Remember you want a minimum of 6" clearance between the truck rail and the trailer overhang.

RE: One AC unit or Two?

If I'm reading your signature correctly you have a 26' toyhauler? And are you planning on keeping the garage cool as well? (not that this is a huge element either if the overall length is still only 26', your area is even smaller if not including the garage) If that length is correct in my opinion you do not need a second a/c unit. We have camped in the Badlands in the summer more than once, no problem maintaining a comfortable temp. It's your money though, and a lot of people will have no problem spending it for you on these forums. When asking about the biggest or the baddest few will advise against it.
On edit - I see now that you are 30', and the current a/c runs nonstop so you appearently like it cool. I still say it's your call on your comfort zone and that few that size are equipped w/ two.
