RE: Disk brakes recall???

I had them installed on my rig and there was a huge improvement in the braking power. Kodiak brakes with Carlisle actuator. I would not call it a "Perfect System" but so much better than the electric drums. I too will not have a large heavy trailer without the discs.

RE: Campgrounds Around Mobile, AL

We recently stayed at Johnny's RV Park in Theodore and really enjoyed it. We have worked in Mobile several times in the past and this place is the best we have found.

RE: transforce HT

I have run Transforce tires on 2 different Fords and 2 different Dodges. I get well over 50,000 miles on all of them. I usually get new tires before all the tread is gone. I could probably get another 10,000 before they would be be unsafe. I was at the Dodge dealer today and noticed all the new 2500 and 3500 had Transforce on them now.

RE: Needing new tires

I recently bought Bridgestone Duravis 250's for my trailer. Only have around 1000 miles on the so far. They are a all steel cased tire adn have great reviews from the people that have them. They don't have the bulging sidewall from the weight of the rig like the ST or the most recent Maxxis LT's I had. I have a TST pressure moniter and the pressures only increased appx 5 lbs when they were up to road temperature and the tire temps were only about 10-15 degrees more than the outdoor temps while driving. So far very pleased and it my just be all in my mind ... but the trailer seemed to tow better with less sway.

RE: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Thread

I thought this was a CPE 2000 thread but I seem to be mistaken.
I agree. This thread is getting to the point of being useless if you are looking for CPE 2000 advise. I think we need a new one based on actual reviews of the unit itself and keep this for all the 'Techies'. I am looking for people with real experiences using it as a generator. It is too hard to find those related posts in this thread.

Input wanted on Powerhouse generators

I have searched and not found much info. I am looking for info from anyone that has a Powerhouse inverter type generator. 2100 watt remote start and can be parralled like the Hondas. Anybody have any experience with these. I know all the pros and cons of all the generator types and brands and not looking to start a 'this one is better/quieter/etc' comparison. I have a Champion RV model but am looking for something easier to transport and store. They all have their pros and cons. Just have not seen much about the Powerhouse brand.

RE: Trailer tires

I agree it is to get better tires. An E rated trailer tire generally has a higher load rating than a comparable size truck tire, so you are giving up a few hundred pounds carring capacity but should have a more reliable tire. Don't try to save $$ on a low cost tire though, If you are going to a truck tire spend the extra and get a quality tire. I am in the process of getting a set of Bridgestone Duravis 250's. They are a steel cased tire and appear to be one of the more reliable tires on this forum along with the Michelin XPS Ribs. The Goodyear G614's are probably the best choice but you have to have wheels that will handle the high pressure. They do come at a premium though!

RE: New tires

I too am getting a set of the Duravis 250's. Local Firestone store is getting them shipped in and I will have them installed Saturday. $1050 and change total with road hazzard warranty. I really would have liked the Goodyear G614's but my wheels are only 6 lug and would not handle the additional air pressure to make them worth the additional $150.00 a tire. Michelin XPS Ribs were about $75.00 more a tire. The 250's appear to have good reviews.

RE: Mounting a camera on the back of the camper help

Check out rvcams.com They were very helpful when I bought mine. I used a fishtape and removed a clearance light and a taillight for access to run the wires and then along the frame into the front basement area and into the pin box.
