RE: Best Route to Sequoia Park in California

I was there about 3 weeks ago and there is road re-construction in the park on 198. I camped at Lake Kaweah and just drove the truck up.

RE: southern Kansas, Ok, & NM

Have seen a couple towns have city parks to overnight in.Gary
I go to the towns website for places to camp. Sometimes you can get a good tip from rvparkreviews. Last time I did the 160 route I stayed at Coldwater Lake.

RE: Help with our itinerary please!

Just reemphasizing what others have suggested. I think May is a bit early for Colorado but not bad for Southern Utah.

RE: Roads between Utah National Parks

This is an example with #1 being Vegas, #2 is Zion, #3 is Bryce, #4 is Capitol Reef and #5 is Moab.
This is going through the Zion tunnel as it was easier to create. I also didn't know exactly what route or parks you wanted to go to. http://caver.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/Maps/i-WFW2JkT/0/L/Route%20mapping%20example-L.jpg

RE: KOA Chairman To Appear On Undercover Boss, Jan. 11

Go to the CBS website and you can watch it online.
I liked the part about their junk computer software during check-in.

RE: On/off road motorcycling in New Mexico

I would ride out towards Queen and explore from there. Also east of Carlsbad is Project Gnome which I visited years ago. I did it in a rental vehicle but a dual sport motorcycle would have been more fun.

RE: Current River in Southern MO

Hawthorne does monthly rates. Friends of mine park a TT over there all summer for weekend getaways.
Big Spring (Ozark Scenic Riverways NP) has some electric sites and a dump station.
Across the river from Hawthorne is Big Spring RV Camp

RE: Death Valley Boondocking -- which areas are best?

A couple days ago I overheard a conversation in the Ozarks about Death Valley, "nothing" to see they said. I decided it was wise to stay out of the conversation.

Has anyone stayed at Oasis SP? It would be a good stopping point for a trip in mid April.

RE: Replacing a single entry step with a double

I've been told on another forum Lippert mfg has dimensions on their steps.
The width of the steps are just that. Hardly any of the catalogs list the actual mounting dimensions which will be wider than the steps. I may just call the factory after the holidays and see what they come up with.

RE: Replacing a single entry step with a double

Yeah and the odd thing is the other North Trail also had the single step so it appears to be a factory thing. Kicking myself for not negotiating a step swap out to close the deal. And agreed on the beer, falling out episode.

Replacing a single entry step with a double

My folding single entry step, on the new camper, is 15" off the ground. I'm above average height and find this too much.I don't want to carry a step stool around. Are the step manufacturers standard in mounting width? I have mounting plates that come out from the frame and the step is bolted to those. Mine is about 25-7/8" inside to inside of mounting plates.
My previous trailer had a dual step I preferred and it sat a bit lower to the ground.
Paint can used for scale.

If in the Eastern panhandle bike ride the Routeof the Hiawatha
An out of shape overweight dude like me can do it, most others can.
Stanley:
There's a public dump station just south of Stanley about 2.5 miles on #75. If you want hookups in Stanley there is a half dozen new spots at Mountain Village Lodge. Nothing to brag about, just hookups but they let you use a really nice hot spring on their property. It's
in a building that reminds me of a 50/60's era one car garage. You open the large doors and soak while having a real nice view of the sawtooths.
