I am at work so I cannot get to storage unit to measure compartment. I need LxWxH
I am trying to buy a tv for the bunkhouse but need the measurements for the compartment next to the ladder that fits a tv.
Tired of lugging my daughters tv back and forth. $30 on craigslist for a 19" tv

RE: Water Heater usage

I have never boondocked so can't comment about propane. With electric, it gets turned off when I unhook packing up.

RE: electric awning

I would first look at yours opened to see if it is rather flat or is there a good slope.
My unit has a good slope so we have no problems. When you open the awning do not open all the way. You want to keep a little tension. If you are opening up to the point where it looks like it is rolling back up backwards you've opened too far.
We hang lights on ours and such. There are two grooves in the roller. One is used by the awning material so we use the other to hang the lights with those hooks and rubber stuff from camco. I open the awning until the groove is about 1" from the awning material looking up.
As to wind, I have camped beach side in FL with afternoon thundershowers blowing 20-30 mph gusts and my awning is still there. I have read that the auto dump is worthless on models where there is NO slope and the awning is flat.
Eventually the "old" school people will come around. I recall the resistance when computers and GPS units arrived on the scene.
I do enjoy most if wind gets too crazy I can press a button and roll the awning up and still be nice and dry.

RE: Ford f250 and Equalizer WDH hitch

You've spent at least 45k on the truck. 20k plus on the trailer, what is another $400 for safety?? Get a $250 barker 3500 if you don't have one and it takes less than 5 minutes to put the hitch on or off.
Also if you drive at nite, you won't get the annoying flashers from people thinking you have your brights on b/c your front end is shining 1" higher.
How I know this?? I cannot use a wd hitch for my boat trailer and tongue weight is around 1100 lbs

RE: Ford f250 and Equalizer WDH hitch

Here is my suggestion to anyone buying a HD truck thinking they don't need a WD/anti sway hitch.
Measure your front and rear fender hieghts. Once hooked up to trailer fully loaded to camp, if there is "one" inch height difference then you NEED the hitch
Simple as thought and not rocket science

RE: MDT Insurance

Have you received the price yet to be concerned?? I would care less how it is insured as long as the price is reasonable.

RE: Cabin vs Travel Trailer

It is not the insurance company but the person you spoke with. She is inexperienced and does not understand the different kinds of trailer.

RE: Integrated Brake Controller F250

Hook it up and set it to around 8. Drive at about 10 mph and squeeze the lever and this will activate the brakes. You will feel a slight tug from the back. Set the gain higher or lower as you prefer.
I have mine set at around 9.5 but everyone prefers things differently. Drum brakes are not very efficient so don't expect it to stop like your truck. My boat trailer with disk brakes I set to around 6.
Don't be to "technical" about it.

Eagle 324 bhds Brakes

Any owners know if this unit comes with self adjusting brakes?? Last rip out I finally after a year decided I would jack and adjust the brakes. The first try they felt fine. I then looked up the booklet from dexter and said that 12" or something like that have auto adjust brakes. I did not try to adjust the other three.

RE: 7pin adaptor extention cable for 5th wheel ?

Maybe but just as easy to make your own if I understand you correctly. Go to auto parts store or trailer store and buy the female/male adapter. 7 wire trailer wire package and make it. Now you can make it as long/short you want. Maybe $20 and learn something new on the way

RE: Cracks in refrigerator

I am curious about this too. Although it is not my TT fridge but my home fridge. We recently upgraded to a 29 cu ft samsung french door ss fridge so we moved out 25 cu ft out to the garage as a second freidge. Now that it is not over crowded we noticed minor shallow cracks on the walls.
I do not know if it was because of when I moved it on the hand truck or just aged. It is 11 yrs old.

RE: Tire change using scissor leveling jacks?

I would guess the reason the tire left the ground was b/c of the slope and uneven ground rather then you "jacking" it up. Now, if you really put a lot of force and effort into the jacks you might have lifted it off the ground but I would think you did not.

RE: Ford 6.4 owners

Hate to tell you but with all the tree huggers you do not buy a diesel for fuel economy anymore. Granted this is about the new diesels. You buy a diesel truck to tow and if you can afford the diesel you won;t worry about the fuel mileage.
